I'm pretty sure that some on here think this guy is the scum of the earth. Same for Snowden and the he/she.

I'm in the camp that doesn't think that about Assange and Snowden.

Manning can die a slow death as far as I'm concerned though. He's just an asshole as far as I'm concerned. If I read correctly, even manning's leaks didn't lead to any deaths, etc.

Snowden let the world know about the incredibly vast surveillance state that we live under. Maybe his method of communicating that could be considered wrong, but does anyone think it could have been done another way, given the collusion between the liberal median and the Deep State?

I'm not saying Assange or Snowden are heros, but, as far as I'm concerned Assange has been doing us a favor. He's been doing the job an unbiased and impartial press should be doing, but they refuse to for partisan purposes. We would not know about the crap that the DNC pulled for her. About Podesta and all the other BS.

I realize that he put the CIA code stuff out there for all the world to see. But, if that stuff was being used against you and me, then I'm glad. F*ck them. And if what they did w/ the FISC against Pres Trump and the NSA data collection, then there's no reason to think otherwise, IMHO.

But, if things even remotely start looking bad for the Dem's, then I really hope he has the money form some legit security because, otherwise, he's a dead man walking. He could potentially take them all down. And if he can prove that the DNC info came from inside, then Mueller is gone, everything is gone. And I don't see them letting that happen. They'll either find a way to lose the case and kill him later or the Deep State will get him. That might sound loony or far fetched, but those folks are losing their minds.

He has said that he has 'dead man switches' in case anything happens to him. So, I guess we'll see how it all plays out.

“I’m not saying Assange or Snowden are heros, but, as far as I’m concerned Assange has been doing us a favor.”

Agree.

If you didn’t know about the vast surveillance state (an organization I have worked for, as have many of you) before Snowden arrived you’re very late to the party. Thousands of authors, reporters, commentators, comedians and actors have tried to tell you. Take the late Bill Hicks as just one example. Many of the things the surveillance state does had a very rational justification when we were at war with fascism and communism and some things still hold true.

If Trump was working for the Russians, what would happen with Edward Snowden? Wouldn’t Trump have pardoned Snowden and invited him back?

I would suspect that the Deadman switches, if real, are about leaking information out. But even then you know full well that liberal politicians will dismiss it as fabricated.

Yep, Hicks tried, and paid the price. No more secrets. All it has done is bred greater corruption at the top.

You’re on here alot. I know that. You’re a different breed of person. The carpenter or plumber down the street from you isn’t reading Glenn Greenwald, Michael Hastings, Breitbart or anyone else. Do you think any of them know who, Reality Winner is and why she just pled guilty? Of the guy from Northern Virginia, who worked for the State Dept and CIA, and was caught selling info to the Chinese? Or know about Feinstein’s driver/assistant that was working for the Chinese for the last 20 years?

Most folks are just trying to make a buck and support their family.

I can appreciate your perspective having worked as a security contractor overseas and being around the intel types. But, you and I should agree, that a lot of people probably couldn’t pick their Senators or Congressman out of a lineup. They’re too busy with life. They’re not reading the NY Times or anything else. They’re reading the sports section of the NY Post(best sports section of any paper, btw) and maybe some opinion columns, op/ed, maybe.

Some guy commuting into NYC on the LIRR, gets up at the butt crack of dawn to make the train, works all day, then falls asleep on the ride home, gets home and does the family thing. Goes to sleep, rinse and repeat, 5x a week. He isn’t reading, nor does he even know, what you know.

So, I’m not disagreeing with you, at all. I’m just saying that Snowden put it on the front page for all the world to see.

Snowdens face belongs on Mt Rushmore!

He did more to lay bare tyrants than many before him.

I won’t say Mt Rushmore, but I for damned sure don’t think he should be forced to live in exile either, self imposed or otherwise. Some may argue that he may have taken more ‘secrets’ and handed them over to the Russians, Chinese, whoever. Whatever...

They got whatever they needed from her.

Assange is a criminal and not a hero. Anyone who supports Assange in the least hates the US Military.

Democrats are cheering because surely Assange will reveal some deep secrets about Russians

Assange has already stated that the info wiki received was not from the Russians or a state party.

And I suspect the reason he hasn't released the info is for two reasons:

First he never wanted to compromise any of his sources.

And second, he's using that information as a bargaining chip in the event he is deported to the U.S. for prosecution.

With that being said, the MSM and the Democraps have successfully Clintonized him to the point that any testimony he should give will be laughed at as they did to Juanita Broderick......

I firmly believe that the emails were originally provided by Seth Rich and given to either a second party or directly to Wiki

Sorry but I'm a vet and view Assange as a hero alongside Linda Tripp.........

We know how Linda Tripp's saga turned out despite all the attacks by the MSM, folks like you, and the Democrap party.

But we have yet to even begin to see what an Assange full disclosure will reveal........

Don't be too enthusiastic on seeing him imprisoned..........Sheesh!

Negative, nickcarraway. I am a veteran. And I do not hate the guy. It was learned in testimony, that the info that was released didn’t have significant impact.

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2017/jun/20/chelsea-manning-wikileaks-no-impact-us-war-pentagon

The publication of hundreds of thousands of secret US documents leaked by the Aarmy soldier Chelsea Manning in 2010 had no strategic impact on the American war efforts in Afghanistan and Iraq, a newly released Pentagon analysis concluded.
The main finding of the Department of Defense report, written a year after the breach, was that Manning’s uploading of more than 700,000 secret files to the open information organization WikiLeaks had no significant strategic effect on the US war efforts.

If you want to be mad at anyone, be mad at the he/she. As I stated, I do not consider Assange a hero. And it may be moving the goalposts. Given the above information, what he outed about our government sponsored espionage on innocent US citizens, the Podesta’s and the rigged DNC charade, is more important than what an insignificant he/she provided him.

I think if you talk to a lot of vets, they would agree with me, that they’re more concerned about what our government is doing to its own citizens, than anything else.

You have your opinion, I have mine. No need to get personal or get into name calling as others do, either. I’m not a traitor. I left my job as a police officer and deployed, after the attacks. If I were younger and it happened all over again, I’d do the same, without hesitation.

I agree w/ the Seth Rich stuff, all day. But, if he has some juicy stuff, that can be corroborated, who knows. When the clinton thing was going on, he had a lot of supporters, a willing media circling the wagons for him and a Dem party that did as well. That all fell apart when Lewinsky showed up. Did it really cost him anything? Not really. He’s still considered a hero by some.

But, back then there wasn’t as many media outlets as there are now. They didn’t have armies of researchers to dig thru archives, videos and audio recordings. Everything is a keystroke away. And then you have things like Judicial Watch, which seem to be pretty darn good at getting the government to cough up some info.

And, I think the modern Democratic Party wants to see her, at least, go away. She’s talking of running again and that will just divide the field and she’ll throw a biblical hissy fit, if she doesnt’ get her way. We all know that she’s supposed to be the candidate. And her handlers, supporters and the ones that she owes, will do whatever they can to get her there so they can get a return on their investments.

And then we have the wild card, President Donald J Trump and Twitter. If he gets a decent AG, ain’t no telling what can happen. I just hope all the other parties have some really good security.

Let’s stop the bullmalarkey. Nothing is going to hurt the Democrats. Republicans had all three chambers of government for two years and the only person hurt was the top Republican. For crying out loud, they couldn’t even manage to get rid of that corrupt asshat IRS commissioner, John Koskinen, who was appointed by Bathhouse Barry. It’s a complete joke.
