The answer is yes.
She shouldnt be honored with a car that only cost, say, $100,000?
The criticism probably stems from the fact that the money probably ultimately derived from peoples domations. Theres a video clip of the presentation to her, with a crowd and cameras and crowing about the color of the brake calipers. Seemed rather prideful for a humble pastor.
The wife got indignant on social media and attempted to compare herself to a basketball star, who does not live off of donations.
Oh, well. None of those conmen ever got any of my money.
You have to walk the walk if you preach the prosperity gospel.
Good gosh, is there not one good man left? Does this preacher have any sense of the optics? As many exotics driven by untrained drivers of what a hypercar is capable of, how soon does she prang it biggly and or get hurt? What good could they have done elsewhere with his money? Different faith, but where is the church militant on this?
I saw old man Osteen, John, pull up to a restaurant in a Rolls Royce in the early 80s.
“I’m a husband first. Don’t confuse what I do with who I am.”
...........
IMHO, this guy should be nowhere near any leadership position in a church. At least a Christian Church.
Well it was either the Lamborghini or feeding the poor. You shall know them by their fruit.
Stealin’ fer Jesus. Good work if you can find it...
After doing some checking I just wanted to give credit where credit is due. This pastor was one of the black pastors that met and prayed with Trump in the Oval Office. And of course he got savaged for it. That means something to me, so as a very imperfect Christian myself, I’ll hold off on judgment.
So many bogus holy men. So much BS.
Even pastors need christ:
Mark 8:36 King James Version (KJV)
36 For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?
He made the right choice, neither one of them would have fit in the Aventador......let alone together.
One early eye-opener was when a pastor at a church I visited (looking for a home church) showed up at my house to introduce himself and "minister" to us, and ended up trying to sell me a vacuum cleaner. As a young husband and father seeking a spiritual home, that was a rude awakening...
Comparing notes of first-hand experiences recently brought up a number of churches where church leaders pilfered the offerings, and / or sold the church property and disappeared with the money. Adultery is commonplace in the hierarchy as well. lt has been a very hard reality for me to face. I came out of a very heavy-handed religion, where the answers to my questions were "It's not for you to know or question, just listen and obey the leaders". Sound familiar?
Even many of the "good" missions and ministries have become a socialist-like ego trip for so many running them that I have become jaded, even though the need is great. I discovered this first hand when I got behind the scenes of several as a contributor (money and personal time) and found even the best had a dark, selfish side.
It's really shaken me to my core, and I am now skeptical when someone comes to me with their requests for time or funds for "What God has called them to do...". I find in most cases when I question them, the pushback is illogical and unscriptural by their own standards, which makes me wonder about the true motives behind their actions in the first place. Even when a ministry might look good, when I look at the personal lives of people running them, it makes me question again their true motives...
Fellow Freepers, I apologize for the venting, but this has been weighing on me for a long time as more and more of these revelations come to the surface...
Lord, help me in my unbelief! Give me the ability to see and hear You, and not those that strive to put themselves between You and me for the advancement of their ungodly plans and schemes....
“Pastors” like this are one of the main reasons that the number of unbelievers are climbing with each passing day.
I think there’s a special place in Hell for these con men.
“... and you can have your own Lamborghini. Just call xxx-xxx-xxxx. People are ready to take your call and donation.”
Those who donate the big bucks to such “Christian” enterprises get what they pay for - a rich “pastor” who loves the benefits of being rich...
Hey Pastor Gray, Jesus thinks you’re a jerk.
