Well, this seems to have become an annual event. Alone on Christmas Eve, reaching out to my fellow FReepers.
Myself, I have my daughter's hermit crab for company. And some great classical Christmas music. And, a little later, George Bailey and friends via BluRay.
Anyone else spending this evening solo?

We are about to eat Christmas dinner. And we will say a prayer for you.

And I have my family, not due to my strength, but due to Him who elected to be born and due a man...it’s a mystery, but I and you, through Him, are always ‘with’ family. (Alamo Girl would have said it better.)

We lost my beloved Father a few months ago.
This will be our first Christmas without him.
It will be tough.
“Italian beef”?
I’m from Chicago and Italian beef was a staple there growing up.
Take a roast, take a knife, slash it about 60 times, stuff it with garlic gloves. Coat the roast in fennel seed and oregano. Put about an inch or so of water in the bottom of the pan. Bake to 129. Slice very thin. And marinade the sliced beef in the pan liquid with a couple shots of Worchester sauce and beef broth cubes.
Serve on buns with Pepperoncini and the broth. (French dip sorta thing.)

Best food ever.
You get to keep everything you have if you remain single. You have a much reduced chance of being falsely accused of rape or abuse by remaining single.

Nope thankfully Mr. GG2 and I are relaxing before the chaos that will ensue tomorrow when the whole famdamily descends like the locusts for dinner. We will be dreaming of being alone.
Most of my loved ones are in heaven and the only immediate member of my family still alive lives 1,200 miles away.

It’s just the wife & I again. Christmas the holiday is really for children. If you have none it can be pretty empty. Yes it’s a time to reflect on Jesus but if you are honest it’s for the children. If you are alone remember you are not.
The lord is with you.

I’ve been alone during many Christmases. I pray, I eat yummy things, pet the cat, curl up with good books. I’m sort of used to it. Long walks help too.
Thank God for this beautiful earth — the trees, the sky, the beautiful full moon tonight. I feel totally at home in this world and you can too.

I spent a Christmas one time in a place called O’Hare Airport. Nasty place. I was almost alone except for an AWOL Marine.
Yep, just me and the ghosts of Christmases past....good memories.
Cooked a ham today. Taking it to my mom’s house tomorrow. My boys will meet us there for an evening meal. My nine month old granddaughter will be there.

Just me and my goldfish. I’m listening to traditional Christmas music from Pandora on my stereo and munching on cookies my neighbor dropped off. I did talk to both my adult kids during the day.
I am closing in on 41 years since my divorce. Don’t need another candidate for the next one.
