CHICO, California — KRCR News Channel 7 reporter Meaghan Mackey was attacked while at the scene of a mass overdose in Chico Saturday night.
The station says Mackey was ‘shaken up’ but uninjured.
“As many of you know, our reporter Meaghan Mackey was attacked while at the scene of a mass overdose in Chico tonight,” KRCR said in the statement. “Meaghan is very shaken up but is okay. We are thankful law enforcement was right there and handled the situation quickly. We appreciate all your kind words.”
Finally a reporter thanking the cops.
I guess they were glad they were there when needed.

Isn’t that the most pathetic “reporting” you’ve ever seen? About 9 of 10 YouTube videos start “Hey Guys, what’s happening?” It’s obvious where she got her so-called training and did her internship.
Even worse, there is no cameraman! She’s doing selfie reporting and actually says on-camera “I hope I’m in frame.” She reaches over to adjust her tripod-mounted cell phone camera!
Just amazing and hilarious...a TV station sends a self-taught YT “reporter” out by herself with her cell phone to do selfie coverage of a news story.

A reporter was only safe when the camera was rolling, live. In order to get the camera to roll the reporter had to have something important to say or the remote station control room wouldn’t turn on their camera
