“Well see how crappy the ratings are for this game and how low the ticket prices are. They cant be happy with this matchup.”
You are not thinking this thru ...
- flyover country teams KC/NO SuperBowl = X millions in ad revenue
- east coast/ left coast teams NE/LA Superbowl = 10X millions in ad revenue.
This matchup has the NFL and SeeBeeEss honchos literally wetting their Depends.
I don’t trust L.A. - let’s see what the TV market does there. Maybe it will be a novelty. But I saw video yesterday of 4 people in a bar watching that game eating quinoa and spinach. They just don’t care.
Pats... I bet even the Pats fans are tired of the Super Bowl and they won’t travel for this one. They’ll stay home. Old hat.
TV will do a big share as always. It should do a 40 rating. But I think NO vs. Pats or NO vs KC would have done more. The stories are so good. There are no stories here. Just players people love to hate and a team that doesn’t deserve to be there.
If that conspiracy was true, there would be a New York team in the Super Bowl every year. And smaller market cities like Green Bay and Indianapolis would never get to the big game.
You arent much aware of the fan base of these teams.
The Hatriots may be a hot team but that doesnt mean people nationwide love them or want to watch. They arent a big fan base. Never mind 5e Rams. But then, none of the conference teams are.
Doh! I hate being right all the time. :)
