The villains in this story are the Center Party. They ran with the center-right coalition, which refused to join the immigration-limit Sweden Democrats, accusing them of extremism. So they flopped to the Socialist, Green, and radical Left patries to form a cabinet, a la Merkl.

Glad you posted. I along with five other retirees will be on a coach tour of Spain in June. Also going to Portugal, and from Gibraltar to Morocco. Trip ends in Barcelona. Any safety tips you might offer?

Its not just goodbye Sweden. Once they enter Sweden they can freely travel to anywhere in the European Union.
Spain is very safe, except for petty crime. When my wife came here on a house hunting trip in early 2016 she walked alone at night and never once felt threatened or intimidated. But there are 2 things you should watch out for.
Barcelona is the pickpocket capital of Europe and any big tourist attraction is a potential target. Look for tips on avoiding pickpockets before you go. The other problem is counterfeit money but that is more of a problem for us than you. Just be wary if a stranger asks if you can give them change of a fifty Euro note.
