My dog has ticks
self ^ | April 6, 2019 | knarf

He's had a few ticks over the winter, which is unusual, but with the good weather, he's getting three or four a day. I've been reading up on remedies to this problem ...

This is also awesome and SO much fun because the fleas pop like popcorn and emit a flash of light like a bug zapper.

SO satisfying :)

And all the neurotoxic “flea treatments” people spray/dab/slap around their necks on their dogs are even worse.

I love my flea traps.

It’s satisfying to watch them trying to free themselves from their lethal situation.

Get some liquid coconut oil and pet it in fine spray bottle.

Douse the dog and wait a few.

The fleas come out suffocating.

The lauric acid in the oil also repels them.

A half later, your dog looks glossy but isn’t greasy.

My dogs licked themselves once, and didn’t do it again, im guessing the taste of the sulfur was enough to keep them from licking, like I said it cured their mange, better than Happyjacks mange lotion, it has turpentine in it, smells bad. The sulfur kills or repels the mange, I’m guessing the flea and tick spray does what its supposed to also, if the sulfur is absorbed into the skin or fur, I don’t know, my dogs didn’t have fleas or ticks until the next summer, we gave them regular baths after I treated them and they didn’t have any flea or tick problems until the next summer.

I don’t know, really.
It’s possible it would be too messy since cat fur is very fine and thick.
You *can* use the flew zapping comb on them, though.

A dog we had as kids contracted mange. That was back in the late 50’s. We took her to the vet where they dipped her. Not sure what they were using back then, but it cured her.

We have had quite a lot of rain this year . . .I am seeing little flies that I have never seen before. They don’t look like your normal fly. I hope this isn’t the beginning of one of the plagues that God is promising in the end times. Some weird stuff going on.

Wow! Thanks for the science lesson. I knew Freepers were intelligent but the proof is in your post! Now for the research on the egg cycles.

Serresto collar, it will take care of fleas too. And understand the lyme shot has been linked to possible auto-immune issues down the line. so nothing is free.

You’re welcome.

I found out about after I moved into a house with a massive flea infestation from the former tenant’s German Shepherd.

It was *insane*.

The chemicals normally used make me sick and I sure didn’t want to subject my dogs to that poison and I found it by chance at a SS store locally.

I sprayed it around all the baseboards where the little demon bloodsuckers like to hide and a couple weeks later, no fleas.

Would not have believed it if I hadn’t seen it.

It was pricey, like $13 a 16oz bottle, back in the 80s but a pound of food grade DE makes *gallons* of it because you only add a couple teaspoons per gallon.

Just remember to shake the spray bottle often.

:)

Advantix is about six bucks a treatment.....that’s not crazy high

Go to a Tractor Supply store near you

They carry equine, porcine and bovine meds cheap....they will work on dogs

I but amoxicillin and erythromiacin and other antibiotics injectables there and syringes

For my horses and other critters

And syringes for me and I have used amoxicillin injectable on myself

It works fine.....

Killed respiratory infections and wound infections

In a SHTF scenario it’s good to keep that around

Best bet is to borrow a duck.

Why a duck?
