Air Canada: Woman wakes up alone on dark, parked plane
BBC ^

Posted on 06/23/2019 8:56:29 PM PDT by BenLurkin

Tiffani Adams said she fell asleep while flying from Quebec to Toronto on 9 June. When she woke up, she was freezing cold and still buckled into her seat, but the aircraft was parked.

Ms Adams managed to call her friend Deanna Dale to let her know where she was when her phone died less than a minute into the call.

She was unable to charge her phone as the plane had been shut down.

Ms Dale called Toronto Pearson Airport and told them of Ms Adams' whereabouts.

While she was on board, Ms Adams managed to locate a torch in the cockpit of the plane and attempted to attract attention.

She was found by a luggage cart operator...

Ms Adams said that Air Canada staff offered her a limousine and a hotel but she declined, wanting to return home as quickly as possible.

Air Canada confirmed Ms Adams' account to multiple publications and said it was reviewing the incident.

It could have been interesting. Maybe even a fun headline...locally...nationally if I had played it right

Please don’t be so sure.
At birth, I was born with only one eardrum. I took lip reading for many years and rely upon that all day long. Despite my adversities, I have managed to live almost a normal life having a long, long career.
But you really don’t know how much people hear ...especially older people like me. 70 years old.

“Overnight in Dept. store” has some cool stories. One was a book I read when I was a little kid. Actually this was a grocery store. The guy broke in and set up a room in the attic. He lived there, and would steal food at night, and retreat to his loft during the day and read comic books.

Another was an old time radio broadcast, a horror or Suspense! kind of deal. The guy falls asleep or somehow ends up in the store after hours. He hears a night watchman, gets scared, and so freezes like a mannequin. The night watchman strolls by in the dark, crisis is past.

Then, while standing motionless, all the other mannequins start to come to life, turns out there is this whole society that comes alive at night and does stuff in the basement. That story kinda scared me, because I could imagine it. Radio when done right can be plenty scary as a movie.

The best store mannequin was Barney Fife on Andy Griffith. Catching shoplifters don’tcha know.

Well, uh, upload your pic to your new account, from your computer/phone/camera, then you use the URL for the pic.

the HTML is < img src=(URL here) width=25% >
Remove the spaces between the carrots and the HTML.
I put them in so you could see what it looks like.

The % is the percent of the page you want the pic to post. 100% being the full page width.
The height will automatically adjust.

Is that what you needed?

She was spared the nightmare experience of the other passengers, having to enter Toronto airport.

To be fair, the new Terminal 1 at YYZ isn’t too bad, but flying back into Terminal 3, however... I sometimes feel as if I’ve flown in to some depressing, grey Eastern Bloc country, rather than Canada.

...The sort of place that popular YouTuber Bald and Bankrupt likes to visit. :P
