My mom’s husband has a first gen Ridgeline and loves it. He doesn’t really like the looks of the current model though
We have the first Ridgeline model and love it.
It will be like our 16 year old Lexus, it will stay around doing what it does with no problem.
The one caution is it can’t be fitted with skid plates for real off road driving.
A few years ago one of my BIL’s and his wife visited for a few days. He is a big guy 6’5” and he was comfortable riding as a passenger or driving. We let he and his wife drive it a couple of times.
They live in Polar Vortex land and big snow land. After they got home, he traded his big GMC pickup for a Ridgeline. His wife wasn’t ready yet.
One morning at 30 below and with ice and crud in the road, her big SUV wouldn’t start. She used his Ridgeline to travel to her work place (40 mile round trip on icy two lane roads). It and its all wheel drive worked great. She traded her big SUV for another Ridgeline. They still love them.
I fly fish and some of my hand made fly rods and reels are very expensive. The hidden trunk in the bed hides and secures this gear. My BIL has some expensive tools, and the stay in his hidden trunk until needed.
We had to replace the battery and get a new set of tires this past year. Besides normal oil changes maintenance, that is it. So, it appears to have the Honda reliability and long life.
Remember, it’s an Accord with a truck like body. It is NOT a true truck to be used to tow a boat or work. It is a city truck—maybe. I am a Honda guy and have three ninth yard now so no bias against Honda...The Ridgeline will run forever but DO NOT expect lots from it.
Dont own a Ridgeline or know anyone who does but I am fully satisfied with it. A+++++ rating Fast shipper.
I just got a Ridgine yesterday. Compared to other mid size trucks it offered the most w features and comfort. Every review I read was the same. A great value.

It’s a great vehicle as long as you understand they are really a Honda Odyssey minivan with the back cut off. And the Odyssey is built on an Accord unibody pan and drivetrain, so don’t expect it to be a “real” truck in terms of load capacity. But if you just need a light duty pickup they have Honda’s reliability and build quality going for them.
If they could tow I’d get one
It’s not a pick-up and is built on an auto frame.
It only carries 500lb and tows about the same, with a 150lb tongue weight.
First and foremost, the Ridgeline is not a truck. It’s a unibody CUV with the back hacked off. And a CUV is nothing more than a sedan with a raised station wagon-like body. A real truck is body-on-frame. If you need a real truck, don’t get the Ridgeline. If you don’t need a real truck, get the Honda Pilot, which is what a Ridgeline is before the backend is hacked off.
I of the best little truck I had ever owned. Never a problem. Climbed the pass in Oregon from Bend to Salem a couple of times in a snow storm with iced roads. Everyone had chains on and climbed it with none. Just solid all wheel drive and great automatic rebalancing system.
It ultimately depends on what you want. Dependability, surprisingly good mileage for a truck, good power (Honda 3.5 V6 is strong), good resale (ridiculous resale, IMO), BUT - as others have noted - they aren't selling a lot of them (27,000 last year, IIRC). That's why you don't see a lot of them.
I briefly owned a Pilot SUV which is related. Not too bad but there are better trucks to consider.
I recently learned that all the Ridgelines ever made are made in Alabama

The Honda Ridgelines are popular pickup truck in the Prescott AZ area. The Ridgeline has a more comfortable ride than other pickups and that is a priority among an older population that Prescott has.
The Honda Ridgeline is not a pickup.
It is an SUV with a birth defect.
