An autopsy found that financier Jeffrey Epstein sustained multiple breaks in his neck bones, according to two people familiar with the findings, deepening the mystery about the circumstances around his death.

Among the bones broken in Epstein's neck was the hyoid bone, which in men is near the Adam's apple. Such breaks can occur in those who hang themselves, particularly if they are older, according to forensics experts and studies on the subject. But they are more common in victims of homicide by strangulation, the experts said.

I agree with you. My first thought was that in order for the hyoid bone to have been broken by hanging, he would have had to have hung himself from a higher position, with the weight of his body putting more pressure on the bone as he dropped down. But then again, who knows.

The question is, if Epstein used resources available in his cell, how would anything he used be sufficient to cause broken bones? I have heard of cases where erotic asphyxiation by restricting oxygen to the brain goes wrong and death occurs. Epstein, from his kinky sex life, may have had knowledge of this technique. If he used such a technique it would never need such severe trauma to the neck to cause broken bones. That is because you would never want to cause pain when you know it can be done without pain. That tells me that if you rule out erotic asphyxiation because of the broken bones, Epstein was murdered.
