Stopped Using Shampoo and Hair is Better
Me | Expatcanuck

Posted on 09/21/2019 9:54:07 AM PDT by ExpatCanuck

I’m almost 60 and have had a full head of obsidian hair all my life. It started thinning out about a year ago. I quit using shampoo about a month ago (just rinsing and scrubbing with hot water) and it has started to grow back in and thicken (caveman like, LOL).

I know a lot of it is genetics, but makes me wonder if the chemicals in the modern shampoos and soaps are screwing us up genetically. Anyone had any similar experiences.

Great info! Thanks. Makes one wonder what the heck is different between kids shampoo and adult shampoo. Just marketing I think.

Do you dilute the vinegar at all or just put on and rinse?

Depends on your DNA and the shampoo you’ve chosen ...

That gives me a great business idea. Shampoo and soap designed specifically for your genetics composition. I’ll give you a share of my forthcoming patent.

My father in law has OCD too & the dentist told him to chill on the multiple brushing & flossing.

“my grandmother used to rinse our hair with apple cider vinegar diluted with water.”

I remember Mom rising our hair with ACV after washing. I was young but recall it was “squeaky” clean and shiny. Hmmmm... Maybe I should give that a try.

Avoid shampoos with sulfates.

They generally cost more but I have found that I use less. Also, you should not wash your hair more than 2-3 times a week.

“take Biotin for hair and nails.”

I gave that a try, but it didn’t work for me. Am now trying a packet of unflavored gelatin once a day in juice. It seems to make my nails stronger, but not sure about my hair.

Your body reacts to how frequently you shower and shampoo. The more you do it, the more you need to do it.

Years ago people bathed once a week or less. Some dermatologists recommend trying to shower every other day and using soap only on what they call the smelly parts, i.e. feet, underarms and nether regions.

Obviously if you are out running or working in the garden you need to take a shower - unless you’re trying to get your spouse to move out. ;-)

Don’t know about shampoo but my aunt used beer as a rinse.

Same here - stop showering and wearing clean clothes. I bought a used tent and plan to move to the parking lot at Randy’s Donuts in LA. I will let California pay for everything else I need. Plus my cash income from panhandling.

You have to find one that works for you. My sister gave me a bottle of Health Hair Plus FOLLI-CLEANSE. It’s for oily to normal hair. I never looked back after that. My ears feel so clean after using this, lol.

Take the full B vitamins, which usually include biotin. There’s something called Nail, Hair & Skin Connection that they sell in health food stores and vitamin shops.

It’s also is good for your nerves.

The only drawback is if you have hepatitis you’ll never know it. It’s a color thing.
