She doesn’t consider Facebook the ‘Internet’.

Ok. Then your post should bre:
Less than 1% of people would be just as happy with a 386...........
I’ve been, among other things, a PC system builder since the early 1990’s. One thing I have noticed is Intel processors “always” work while in a batch of 100 AMD processors there will a a couple duds. Last month, aganst my better judgement, I built a system for a friend using the latest Rizen processor. Sure enough the processor was bad. This past week Rock Star Games release Red Death Redemption 2 for the PC and it appears there is significant problems running with AMD processors.
You’ve been warned: Intel processors are more reliable. You get what you pay for...

What’s a Threa dripper?
A stripper named Thea after the last call...................
that’s what I found out (before checking) when I bought my current Desktop.
I don’t build stuff anymore. My needs are now simple in retirement. small\fast and cheap.
This is a small form factor. no case fan. temps were incredible.
I am running it like in the old days, took the back off and run a desktop fan into it to get the temps down.
I built my first PC, an XT clone about 35 years ago. There was a time when almost all of my close friends and family members were using desktops that I put together for them. One time I assembled a batch of 12 identical computers so that it would be easier for me to keep them running. Everyone had AMD K6 processors. I had a motherboard failure and a few minor issues, but not one bad processor. My experience with both AMD and Intel processors has been extremely good. The only issue that I have had with any processors have been from surface mounted components coming loose from excess heat.
I remember being very happy when I got Windows 3.1 to run on a 386... so I tend to agree. But I have gotten kind of spoiled with all the fancy crap we have these days.
I have a Windows 95 computer that still works every day!................
I almost sold my AMD stock as it was wandering from $28 to $34 for months. This past month it is up $8+.

My wife wants a new laptop for Christmas. All the ones that is the size and the price we want all are run by Intel Celeron processors.
Have they improved?
I told her we need to pay the extra $200 and get the better processors.
These days, we just don’t have the patience to watch a little circle spin, spin, spin.
