Sounds like our meals.

You can get a LOT of chicken out of a whole chicken.

We shred it and make chicken burritos with the flatbreads I make from flour/shortening/salt/water. Add some lettuce and/or other garden veg to stretch it and maybe some rice/beans and voila, supper.

“We do not have any indication at this time that the corona virus is transmitted through any product or any mail or any other entity of that nature this virus is airborne but again the contact is the person who is infected with a virus you have to be in very close proximity say 6 to 8 feet from the person that actually has the coronavirus,” said Landers.

Just hand to order a part from China this afternoon. Ticks me off, as this part could probably be made in US. It's a good quality item, and I would not mind paying more it if I could get in US.

Wish I did to have to order at all, but I don't have a CANX "bird" I can take parts off of.

Any OTC meds would be good to get right now. Anything at all.

For this? I couldn’t say.

OTC meds that are ‘dry’ as in pills, tablets, capsules or powder would last longest (years likely). ‘gelcaps’ and syrup I toss at the expiry date as things can grow in those.

Here are two more examples of deductive logic.

If a person believes that the God who gives them eternal salvation also commands them to always tell the truth, then there is a high probability that that person will tell the truth.

If a person’s claim to believe in God is only a pretense, then there is a low probability that that person will follow the commandments of God, such as telling the truth.

The news here had an interview w/ someone from Walmart. The guy said about 1/3 of their inventory comes from China.

There was plenty on hand for now, but he was unsure depending on their suppliers in China, and how the Coronavirus impacted those suppliers.

FWIW, I think Walmart probably operates more efficiently than the Gov’t.

Mucinex (or, store brand version) wouldn’t be a bad thing to have on hand...along w/typical OTC cold/flu meds.

That’s what I’m thinking....who packed this cargo? Who loaded this cargo? Who’s flying this cargo plane? Do they get to deplane? (Of course.) Where will they eat? Sleep? Go and “go”??

For OTC meds, I swear by mucinex or a guaifenesin only product. It’s an expectorant.

True enough and the influenza outbreaks are deadly to many..This virus is a different problem in that so far all vaccines and convalescent conditions result in autoimmune antibodies to vital serumcomponents...meaning even you appear to be well a new challenge by these virus means a self destructive immunopathology..Colds are caught again and again..why..because the body quells normal immune responses to this class of virus..to stop autoimmune crisis..Complement cascade happens because the autoantibodies target a protein shuttle system in the serum..where complement component is in huge amount..cytokine storm in layman’s terms

This virus keeps people from feeling too sick because the normal cytokines that cause fever and inflammation are quelled by the virus mimic..of a human component and the upper respiratory cells are pumping out virus while the person goes about their business..the virus can stay infmlmectable up to 10 days..

The thg thing none is addressing is the susceptibility of those with the mongol genotype to this pathogen..Chinese and Asian and american indians..In fact auto antibodies are to a specific glycoprotein residue return to the liver carrier protein called asialo muccinoids..even the ace2 haplotype are mongol..This is “their” disease and It has already caused horrifying tragedy there...MERV targets a ubiquitous protein cleavage system called dopeptydl peptidase..found in north african and middle east gene pools..why? The bat is sars and the camel is MERV purported

viral source..

Studies on recuperative MERV titers show the neutralizing as a preference to be the E or envelop component..with 87 percent expressing this antibody..while about half had the spike protein antibody..the one that has autoantibody effects..There is a mRNA vaccine under study..which is still to spike and not envelope antigen..I would never advise spike associated vaccine..but it is the most obvious given the morphology of the virus..

Agreed.

Take the guaf only during the day, guaf with a cough suppressant so you can sleep at night.

I sleep in a recliner when I have something respiratory. Not straight up but not laying down either.

Look for guaf pills if you can find them for long term storage and the syrup for the next year or so.

Thanks for posting that link, about the contrast between Philly and St Louis, during 1918 Flu....

From your link...

.... the greatest problem in Philadelphia was the absence of leadership needed to curtail the spread of influenza. Their proof? St. Louis.

“In contrast, the first cases of disease among civilians in St. Louis were reported on October 5, and authorities moved rapidly to introduce a broad series of measures designed to promote social distancing, implementing these on October 7. The difference in response times between the two cities (14 days, when measured from the first reported cases) represents approximately three to five doubling times for an influenza epidemic. The costs of this delay appear to have been significant; by the time Philadelphia responded, it faced an epidemic considerably larger than the epidemic St. Louis faced.

Philadelphia had a peak weekly excess pneumonia and influenza (P&I) death rate of 257/100,000 and a cumulative excess P&I death rate (CEPID) during the period September 8 – December 28, 1918 of 719/100,000. St. Louis, on the other hand, experienced a peak P&I death rate, while NPIs were in place, of 31/100,000 and had a CEPID during the period September 8 – December 28, 1918 of 347/100,000.”

St. Louis benefited from the leadership of Dr. Max C. Starkloff, Health Commissioner for the city of St. Louis. Like in Philadelphia, the disease first appeared at a military base in St. Louis, the Jefferson Barracks, which was 10 miles from the city. By Oct. 1, a handful of influenza cases were reported at Jefferson Barracks. Within days, the numbers soared to 500.

Starkloff closely monitored these developments and didn’t hesitate to close schools almost immediately. He went on to close factories, theaters and retail outlets. Starkloff faced intense pressure from St. Louis merchants, public school officials and politicians to reopen these facilities, but he refused. Schools were closed for nearly 3 months, as were many other population hubs.

But the citizens of St. Louis benefited from Starkloff’s insistence: “When discussing the history of the tragic 1918 influenza epidemic, St. Louis is often held up as a model city. Because of the quick and sustained action by its leaders, St. Louis experienced one of the lowest excess death rates in the nation, just 358 per 100,000 people.”

In response to your post about the cargo place being used to pick up the slack

“ HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WBRC) - A global transportation company has announced plans to deliver cargo to the US by opening a direct line of flight between Shanghai, China and Huntsville, Alabama.
Beginning February 25, DSV Global Transport and Logistics will operate a Boeing 747-8 freighter airplane three times per week, between Huntsville and Shanghai.
According to DSV, multiple airlines have either suspended or reduced the number of flights to and from Mainland China due to the risk of spreading of the coronavirus. As a consequence, there is an estimated 5,000 tons less capacity available per day.
DSV calls the air bridge between Alabama and China a “unique solution” to the impact the coronavirus has had on the delivery of international cargo.”
