I just called and said "There's a Republican revolt going on int the House Chamber and I wasn't seeing much coverage of it." I got a run around on it. Was told several times "There are no cameras on now. Cameras are not allowed." I objected, politely, that the story could still be covered.

First actual thread post; hope this is okay. Mods, please move and/or delete as appropriate. For those that are interested and still haven't hit the election booth yet, Mr. Melissa_in_ga just told me that Hunter and Thompson are still on the ballots in Georgia. I've done a lot of soul-searching since January 19th. I've said I'd vote my conscience in the primary, and vote for the Republican nominee in the general. My first instinct is to vote for Hunter, since he's still on the ballot and is my first choice for president. However, at this point, my vote is going...

Senate Foreign Relations Committee chairman Joe Biden told Gen. David Petraeus "It's time to end the surge and bring the troops home" from Iraq. Opening a Senate hearing on progress in Iraq, the Delaware Democrat said he found little reason to believe that sectarian violence will end in Iraq. "Are we any closer to a lasting political settlement? If we continue to surge, is there any evidence Sunnis, Shias and Kurds will stop killing?" Biden asked Petraeus and Ryan Crocker, the U.S. ambassador to Iraq. "The answer to both those questions is 'No,' " Biden said. Biden, who was interviewed...

At a southeast Ames coffee shop Friday morning, U.S. Congressman Duncan Hunter mingled with guests, telling stories of life on the campaign trail and why he is the best candidate to be president of the United States in 2008. The gathering space was filled with a few undecided voters and a mob of Hunter supporters. It was the sort of scene that replicated itself at restaurants, cafés and candidate headquarters in Mid-Iowa throughout the day Friday as Republican senators, congressmen and former governors sought to generate excitement and the last few votes that could lead them to a better...

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1695579/posts MISTAKES GEORGE BUSH DIDN'T MAKE IN IRAQ (a good read) ChronWatch ^ | September 05, 2006 | Raymond Kraft Posted on 09/04/2006 11:46:00 PM CDT by jdm It has become fashionable for Democrats and other Liberals to intone the relentless mantra, "George Bush has made too many mistakes in Iraq!" at every opportunity, without ever bothering to explain exactly what those mistakes were and why they were mistakes, as if it were a self-evident truism. I understand this: they are determined to define themselves as the Un-Bush, right or wrong. They would rather be wrong than admit that George...

Jimmy Carter, you’re the father of the Islamic Nazi movement. You threw the Shah under the bus, welcomed the Ayatollah home and then lacked the spine to confront the terrorists when they took our embassy and our people hostage. You’re the Runner-in-Chief. Bill Clinton, you played “ring around the Lewinsky” while the terrorists were at war with us. You got us into a fight with them in Somalia, and then you ran from it. Your weak-willed responses embolden the killers. Each time you failed to respond adequately they grew bolder, until 9/11. John Kerry, dishonesty is your most prominent attribute....
