Nice, good to hear. We had a crappy room for the Feb. cruise, so no big loss for us either.

When you get supplies, there have been some wonderful things I have learned from these threads.

You can try Costco and Walmart places and see if they have what you want.

If they don’t, try the hardware stores—people seem to overlook them.

Of course try your local grocery store and see if they have what you need.

For any missing items, try the smaller local grocery stores—particularly if they are in an exurb or rural area—they seem to be well stocked almost everywhere.

Here in the northeast we have a place called Ocean State Job Lot—discount on all sorts of items including food—and they were fully stocked with everything when I visited them last week.

Also, if you can shop during the day on a weekday—most people are working then.

Yeah, I just got off the phone with her. Not more forgetful - just more alternately panicky & then ornery (which she usually is not.)

Notes of today:
1. Gas prices up.
2. IMF getting involved.
3. Store traffic “medium”
4. Store stocked full in this region, (exception some chocolate bars)._

Our local Ace hardware had a bunch of stuff that was sold out in the big stores already.

if you’re going to make a bioweapon you’re not going to use a RNA virus, which is unstable on a good day and will come back and bite you. This is an RNA virus

if you’re going to make a bioweapon you’re going to build stability into the code so you can inoculate your armies. This puppy is changing clothes more often than Paris Hilton. It’s a baby in diapers. Again, a virus that will come back and bite you. The entire purpose of a bioweapon is to be able to control the result.

imo, this virus came about because China is still very much a third-world nation, with glitter and neon lights

I do however, believe that China has turned the Wuhan Flu into a political weapon - used to force complete mind control over their population, including Hong Kong and Taiwan, used to force alliances, and is being used to attack the US as the number one power in the world and the US people themselves.

China stole two months of time from the world, lied their asses off to this day, begged for billions of dollars in equipment but only committed one billion of their own, demands they be acknowledged as some sort of savior of the world, while they encourage their social credit earners to laugh at a world of ‘inferiors’ short on supplies. Time for a divorce.

Definitely NOT the flu. China would not be destroying their economy with containment efforts if it was just like the flu.

Thanks for the post. Very informative.

Tests, doctors in hazmat suits, lots of Gatorade: A report from inside a coronavirus quarantine

Carl Goldman has been in isolation for a dozen days and doesn’t yet know when he’ll be allowed to go home.

For a dozen days, Carl Goldman’s world was reduced to a 20- by 30-foot containment room, and his only visitors came bearing coronavirus testing kits and bottles of Gatorade while dressed head to toe in hazmat suits.

Goldman contracted COVID-19, the disease caused by the coronavirus, on board the Diamond Princess cruise ship, and while he’s now in lower-level housing at the Nebraska Biocontainment Unit in Omaha, he remains quarantined.

Which Columbus? Ohio? Georgia?

Georgia doesn’t have a Costco so the posting would be fake.

The John Hopkins guy is focusing on infection numbers, but there are a _lot_ of other implications if that forecast is correct.

The impact on hospitals and health care in all countries would be insane. There is nowhere near enough equipment, doctors, nurses, technicians, etc to deal with something like that.

The economic costs—probably a full two year world wide depression.

The political costs—who knows...anything would be possible.

We better hope he is wrong—or the docs figure out a way to mitigate the disease even if they can’t get a vaccine that works.

IMHO someone’s research ‘pet’ virus got loose.

Walked out on their shoes.

In a bag with a sac’d animal that should have been incinerated but was sold instead at a market.

Was rinsed down a sink into mis-plumbed waste disposal system into the river...

etc.

Our local Ace hardware had a bunch of stuff that was sold out in the big stores already.

I went to Ace for my AC filters. I wanted to avoid the crowd at Home Depot and Lowes. There was almost nobody at Ace at 10am.

Sure, I paid higher prices at Ace. But I’m beyond caring about that.

Yup.

Stuff is like a dollar more.

It’s closer for us, the big box stores are a 20m drive.

We get a lot of incidental stuff at our Ace.

We have a bunch of Ace and other little hardware stores around here (northern CT). I have no clue how they stay in business since we also have Home Depots and Loews as alternatives.

Well it certainly is a complex situation.
You can get:
L-CoV after getting S-CoV
S-CoV after getting L-CoV
L-CoV and S-CoV Simultaneously

All three could have different affects. And then when you have both simulatenously, at what ratios ?
