What makes me nervous is that Italy is seeding our country with patient zero's all over the place (largely because President Trump refused to act mind you). And there death rate is very high compared to most countries.

There are two strains of this virus, S and L. I can't recall which one offhand is the more deadly, but one of them is far more deadly, and it might be that Italy has the more deadly strain and it's the country being allowed to see the United States.

But ares they SARS-CoV-2 or a different coronavirus? There are multiple types of coronaviruses and many of those just cause a bad cold in healthier people.

It is likely too late for that to be of benefit. When testing is widely available, I suspect we will find there to already be several hundred, if not thousands of cases already in the US. The time to quarantine our borders was likely two months ago. If that is indeed the case and the contagion is already amongst us, that may indicate the actual mortality rate is low. Would stricter quarantine in U.S. be the impetus to push us into economic collapse?

A friend whose house I looked after, spent the month of February in Ovierto , Itay on vacation. He and his wife returned to the Boston area last weekend..
He told me the only question asked of them at the airport was had you been to China recently?

He told me there were a lot of American students from all over Italy at the Italian airport being recalled by their colleges, to return to the USA. - Tom
