150 degrees F May disrupt it. But that’s not going to happen.

Even though the ‘fill up your ICU’s’ is apparently a thing, if it only killed the old people I don’t think governments would be hair on fire with this.

Let’s be honest. If this virus only killed the old people, china wouldn’t have done a damned thing to stop it.

Neither would European countries.

Or most other countries who are underwater on pension plan funding.

So there’s something going on besides the overall mortality rate and morbidity rate in the over 60’s.

I also think we may be in the initial stages of some sort of ‘event’ with China (perhaps others). I’ve never heard trump refer to himself as a ‘war time president’ before.

Most of the ‘cautions’ and ‘warnings’ about movement and gatherings sound like preventing ‘target rich environments’ than reducing disease spread.

There absolutely is more to the story. If it is what I fear it is, THAT would cause panic.

Notice at the briefing the past few days they’ve been begging the millennials to quarantine?

I don’t believe in coincidences.

IL

The latest wave of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Illinois has brought the state’s total to 288 as the viral pandemic expands its reach across the United States, Gov. J.B. Pritzker’s office said Wednesday.

With 128 new cases, it’s the biggest single-day spike in cases since the state’s first coronavirus case was confirmed Jan. 24, and officials say it will rise exponentially as more testing becomes available.

“Some of you might look at the illnesses and death in other countries and think, well that couldn’t happen here,” Pritzker said in a live-streamed address from a courtroom in downstate Murphysboro...

...Some of those patients have recovered, but the first death in Illinois attributed to the pandemic was reported Tuesday after a 61-year-old South Side woman died at the University of Chicago Medical Center.

Cases extended to two new counties, Kendall and Madison, bringing the virus’ reach to a total of 17 counties, according to the state Department of Public Health. Ages of the patients range from 9 to 91.

There were also 20 new cases at a DuPage nursing home that has now reached 42 cases — 30 residents and 12 staffers.

The number also includes patients from DePaul University, Columbia College and the University of Chicago, which each reported earlier in the day that students, staffers or faculty members had been diagnosed with COVID-19.

On my walk I was listening to an audiobook about the 1918 influenza.

Do you know what it was called by the Brits in August of 1918? “The three day fever.”

Ironic, isn’t it.

During the mid to late summer of 1918, the disease was mild. It was mild to the point of being dismissed.

It hit with a vengeance in the first week of September. (An important note for those who think the heat will kill it.)
