A statue of the Angel Moroni sits atop the Salt Lake Temple in a 2015 photo. The temple was damaged Wednesday in an earthquake that also dislodged Moroni's trumpet.

(CNN)The 5.7-magnitude earthquake that shook Utah Wednesday morning also dislodged a symbolic part of Salt Lake City's iconic Mormon temple: the trumpet of an angel statue atop its highest spire.

The temple is the spiritual focal point for the 16 million members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

"The trumpet on the Angel Moroni statue fell off, and there is minor displacement of some of the temple's smaller spire stones," said Daniel Woodruff, a spokesman for the church.

Wow .... talk about evasiveness...

Is it true that you actually have no idea how to defend your own beliefs??? .... only to destroy other peoples belief in Christ?

Lets try again: John 17:

20 Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;

21 That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.

22 And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:

Christ is praying that his disciples will be ‘one’ just as God and Christ are ‘one’ .... and that they also may be ‘one’ with God and Christ.

Sorry, as this scripture so clearly teaches/proves.... the oneness of Christ is in purpose not being.

The Doctrine of the Trinity is 1600 year old FAKE NEWS! The real culprit of your belief is the Roman Emperor Julian the Apostate who rescued the Nicene Creed from the dustbin of history.

Please follow Christ’s teachings and remove the 2x4 out of your own eye before you come at my eye with your fake news tweezers.

Teppe, your post sounds like it was written with too much estrogen. Chill.

“ Is it true that you actually have no idea how to defend your own beliefs??? .... only to destroy other peoples belief in Christ?”

I believe the Scriptures, which are inspired by God, and not an event in history, or a Lying Prophet.

“ Lets try again: John 17”

There you go again teppe. This is really all you have, isn’t it?

The doctrine of the Trinity doesn’t come from this passage, but it doesn’t sound like you understand that.

“ The Doctrine of the Trinity is 1600 year old FAKE NEWS! The real culprit of your belief is the Roman Emperor Julian the Apostate who rescued the Nicene Creed from the dustbin of history.

I sat next to a street person the other day at B&N, who kept blurting out conspiracy theories, over and over and over - to herself. She needed help.

Your posts are becoming the ramblings of a FR street-person, teppe.

You have two points you continually blurt out, and none of us know why, since they don’t relate to what Christians believe.

But FRiend, you keep doing it. Please, for your sake, just pause and actually learn where Christian believers derive the theology of our triune God. Then you could discuss it rationally.

But keep in mind, that if you ever begin to ask questions about truth, you may come to know the Real Christ. It will be difficult to face up to the lies of mormonism FRiend.

Christ hates hypocrites. If you have dedicated your life to attacking my Christian beliefs, you should have the ability or at least, the honesty, to defend my sincere questions about your own.

Alas, the biblical character you remind me most of is Saul. So enthusiastic to destroy the beliefs of others in the God which you yourself don’t understand.

Remember, Christ has said that as you judge, you shall also be judged. By your condemnation of millions of people to hell as non-Christian because they believe in Christianity differently than you, you are proactively diminishing your own Christianity and potentially threatening your own salvation.

Only Christ himself, can declare who is worthy of his salvation. I sincerely recommend that you no longer hijack Christ’s judgement for yourself.

No one understands Christianity in its perfection, certainly we all have much to learn and much to discard. The only thing we can do is seek knowledge at God’s Hand through the Holy Ghost.

I have received my personal revelation from God years ago that he approves of the gospel path which I am on. It came in the form of a dream filled with prophecy (which later came true) and incredible feelings of love and peace for all of God’s creations.

Sorry .... but pardon me if I take God’s word for it rather than yours (plus yours is so full of animosity, innuendo,character-assassination, half-truths and defamation it immediately falls into the ‘Fake News/Junk Email’ folder.

Mormon beliefs are not remotely Christian.

DUDE YOU HAVE MULTIPLE GODS!

Alas, the biblical character you remind me most of is

Remember, Christ has said

Really teppe, think about this...

Why would I believe anything about spiritual truth, spoken by someone in a cult, wearing magic underwear, who believes there are multiple gods that have sex in heaven to create souls?????

Since none of that is biblical and can never save, yet you believe it and swallow it wholeheartedly, why would anyone interested in truth believe your other opinions?

Only Christ himself, can declare who is worthy of his salvation.

Again, if you knew the Scriptures, you would know that NO ONE IS WORTHY.

No one understands Christianity in its perfection

This is just a logical fallacy, disguised as a rationale for what you believe.

You can believe it. I certainly will never trade truth for the Smith lie.

I have received my personal revelation from God years ago

That really is the problem. Mormon beliefs are not based on objective truth, but on feelings, dreams, etc. It's a nice way to avoid Scripture.

No one enters a cult for rational reasons and no one leaves a cult for rational reasons

As I said earlier, if you seek truth a teacher will appear. Until then, you are in a cult that has you wearing magic underwear and believing more than one god can be sovereign.

Sorry .... but pardon me if I take God’s word for it...

Sigh...

According to Joseph Smith; here is GOD's WORD:

Book of Mormon:

Now Zeezrom said: Is there more than one God? And he answered, No. (Alma 11:28-29)

...and be arraigned before the bar of Christ the Son, and God the Father, and the Holy Spirit, which is one Eternal God, to be judged according to their works, whether they be good or whether they be evil. (Alma 11:44)

...doctrine of Christ, and the only and true doctrine of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, which is one God, without end. Amen. (2 Nephi 31:21)

...praises with the choirs above, unto the Father, and unto the Son, and unto the Holy Ghost, which are one God, in a state of happiness which hath no end. (Mormon 7:7)

...power of God; and the Son, because of the flesh; thus becoming the Father and Son--And they are one God, yea, the very Eternal Father of heaven and of earth. And thus the flesh becoming subject to the Spirit, or the Son to the Father, being one God, (Mosiah 15:3-5)

...of Jared, that whoso should possess this land of promise, from that time henceforth and forever, should serve him, the true and only God, or they should be swept off when the fulness of his wrath should come upon them. (Ether 2:8)

"Behold, I am Jesus Christ the Son of God. I created the heavens and the earth, and all things that in them are. I was with the Father from the beginning. I am in the Father, and the Father in me; and in me hath the Father glorified his name." (3 Nephi 9:15)

"And again the Lord called others, and said unto them likewise; and he gave unto them power to baptize. And he said unto them: On this wise shall ye baptize; and there shall be no disputations among you. Verily I say unto you, that whoso repenteth of his sins through your words and desireth to be baptized in my name, on this wise shall ye baptize them--Behold, ye shall go down and stand in the water, and in my name shall ye baptize them. And now behold, these are the words which ye shall say, calling them by name, saying: Having authority given me of Jesus Christ, I baptize you in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. Amen. And then shall ye immerse them in the water, and come forth again out of the water. And after this manner shall ye baptize in my name; for behold, verily I say unto you, that the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Ghost are one; and I am in the Father, and the Father in me, and the Father and I are one...And thus will the Father bear record of me, and the Holy Ghost will bear record unto him of the Father and me; for the Father, and I, and the Holy Ghost are one." (3 Nephi 11:22-27, 36)

Now; are you REALLY gonna TAKE IT?

DUDE YOU HAVE MULTIPLE GODS!

But these only show up in the THIRD book of Mormon Scripture: The Doctrines and Covenants...

According to that which was ordained in the midst of the Council of the Eternal God of all other gods before this world was, that should be reserved unto the finishing and the end thereof, when every man shall enter into his eternal presence and into his immortal rest. (Section 121:32)

And again, verily I say unto you, if a man marry a wife, and make a covenant with her for time and for all eternity, if that covenant is not by me or by my word, which is my law, and is not sealed by the Holy Spirit of promise, through him whom I have anointed and appointed unto this power, then it is not valid neither of force when they are out of the world, because they are not joined by me, saith the Lord, neither by my word; when they are out of the world it cannot be received there, because the angels and the gods are appointed there, by whom they cannot pass; they cannot, therefore, inherit my glory; for my house is a house of order, saith the Lord God. And again, verily I say unto you, if a man marry a wife by my word, which is my law, and by the new and everlasting covenant, and it is sealed unto them by the Holy Spirit of promise, by him who is anointed, unto whom I have appointed this power and the keys of this priesthood; and it shall be said unto them--Ye shall come forth in the first resurrection; and if it be after the first resurrection, in the next resurrection; and shall inherit thrones, kingdoms, principalities, and powers, dominions, all heights and depths--then shall it be written in the Lamb's Book of Life, that he shall commit no murder whereby to shed innocent blood, and if ye abide in my covenant, and commit no murder whereby to shed innocent blood, it shall be done unto them in all things whatsoever my servant hath put upon them, in time, and through all eternity; and shall be of full force when they are out of the world; and they shall pass by the angels, and the gods, which are set there, to their exaltation and glory in all things, as hath been sealed upon their heads, which glory shall be a fulness and a continuation of the seeds forever and ever. Then shall they be gods, because they have no end; therefore shall they be from everlasting to everlasting, because they continue; then shall they be above all, because all things are subject unto them. Then shall they be gods, because they have all power, and the angels are subject unto them. (Section 132:18-20)

Abraham received concubines, and they bore him children; and it was accounted unto him for righteousness, because they were given unto him, and he abode in my law; as Isaac also and Jacob did none other things than that which they were commanded; and because they did none other things than that which they were commanded, they have entered into their exaltation, according to the promises, and sit upon thrones, and are not angels but are gods. (Section 132:37)

Years ago, the city manager of Fairfield, CA, who was a Mormon, got a street to be named Kolob Drive. I wonder where he got that name? 😁😆

This is why mormonic missionaries first try to get you off the ground of biblical facts and onto the ground of feelings.

I ran into a nice young Filipino Mormon missionary, in Aquino International Airport in Manila. He spoke very good English. I was headed to Davao. I think he was headed to Kalibo. He said he believed the Bible, in so far as it was correctly translated. I asked him if he could tell me where it was incorrectly translated. He couldn’t. I asked, if the Book of M was correct, why couldn’t I pick up a history book, and follow the history. He couldn’t answer. I asked, why all the secrecy? He couldn’t answer.
I hope I raised enough questions in his mind. I hope he dumped the Mormon church, for the false religion that it is. 😆🤪

The saying is that it isn't that hard to shake a mormon out of his faith. The trick is for him to ever believe in God again, after realizing how deeply he was deceived by mormonism.

I'm glad you began to ask him the hard questions.

Mormons on FR, when they were actively proselytizing, never could answer any tough questions.

In fact, I asked teppe to explain how many gods there are? How many Heavenly Mothers, if Heavenly Mother is a god? How can two completely different gods both be sovereign?

And of course he never answered... he is sincere, but deceived by a cult... and he has feelings.

Saul ....Your hilarious! You have no ability to defend your own beliefs .... your only ability is to attack others. How hypocritical!

BTW: Don’t rely on Elsie .... he was as bad as you are at his ability to defend his own beliefs.

OK, I assume that you were asking me how many “God the Eternal Fathers, Creator of the heavens and earth there are?” Simple, only one. As for Heavenly Mothers? While I believe in the possibility, I personally don’t know of any, God has not revealed that.

Now your turn .... John 17: 20-22:

Christ wanted his disciples to be “one” just like God and Christ are “one” .... and at the same time one with Christ and God .....

Since you reject Christ’s “oneness” as purpose and believe that he is literally the same being as God the Father ....

....How exactly do you obey this commandment? Do you also Morph? Have you ever morphed with Elsie? Is that also a mystery? Maybe you two should get together for a mystery morphing vacation.....

Sorry teppe, but how many gods are there in Mormon belief?

If there is more than one, how can they all be sovereign?

Is there eternal polygamy?

Where do the Mormon gods go for spring break? Kolob Beach?

Are their wives not gods?

Are their polygamous wives gods too, or just breeding stock?

Did your Heavenly Father used to be Adam, who later became god? Was it another human?

Since the Bibical God existed always in eternity, why didn’t any of your moronic gods?

Did your Mormon Jesus start as a man and later become a god?

And your Mormon hoy ghost, why didn’t he get a body?is he a god?

Start there...

cc: pinging others to help teppe find answers to these questions

When I was in Texas, I knew a retired USAF Chief Master Sergeant, who seemed to be a good authority on Mormonism. Since Joe Smith was a teller of tall tales, he said it was his opinion, that Joe Smith wrote the myth of the Book of Mormon, in order to make money, and it took off and got out of control, so he just went along with it. I don’t know for sure, but I agree, that the Book of Mormon IS a myth.
I think you may be right, in that when a Mormon comes out of that false religion, many times, he/she doesn’t bother to search for the truth. I think I have known more ex Muslims, than ex Mormons. 👎

Saul, Now hear the the fatal flaw of your non-biblical Tri-une God.

Is God’s ‘oneness’ with Christ unity, or identity. You profess to believe that Christ’s oneness with God is NOT unity, but Identity.

In John 17:20-23 Christ prays that his disciples will be ‘one’ with each other and ‘one’ with God and Christ; as Christ is ‘one’ with God.

Since you believe that Christ’s oneness is identity, you must fullfill Christ’s prayer by morphing into the Trinity yourself, for in no other way can you be ‘one’ with God and Christ as Christ has prayed and commanded.

YOU REFUSE TO ANSWER THIS BASIC BIBLICAL QUESTION BECAUSE ..... YOU CAN’T.

You are a religious hypocrite. You insist that I respond to your every Fake News flavor of the week ....

.... and yet you refuse to respond to a simple biblical question about your 4th Century, Non-Biblical Tri-une theology.

Gee whiz AMPU. I didn’t didn’t know you were a religious hypocrite. 😁😆🤪 I would, however take your word over a Mormon any day. 👍 Wear the scorn of a cult member, like a badge of honor. We all should, and Mormonism is a cult with a capital C. Nice people for sure, but their “religion” is pure poison. As I said before, I have known more ex Muslims, than ex Mormons. Sad, but true. 👎
