All stanzas of the Air Force song have been updated to better capture and represent the valor and heritage of the 73-year-old service while also recognizing the diversity and contributions of today’s Total Force regardless of gender.
The announcement by Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. David L. Goldfein, completes a two-step process in which male-only references were revised to capture the distinguished service, the high standards, and central role that women play in every facet of the modern United States Air Force.
The first step focused on changing the song’s third verse, which also serves as the official song of the United States Air Force Academy. Goldfein unveiled those new lyrics in March and suggested that additional changes to remove the remaining male-only references would be made at a later date and after further review.
The updated lyrics include subtle but important changes that more accurately illustrate the role women have played for decades.
“These new lyrics speak more accurately to all we do, all that we are and all that we strive to be as a profession of arms,” Goldfein said. “They add proper respect and recognition to everyone who serves and who has served.”
At the same time, Goldfein re-emphasized the careful consideration that went into the decision for whether, and how, to change the lyrics.
“I also know with absolute certainty and clarity that these changes are about adding to, not subtracting from, who we are,” he said. “Changing the lyrics in no way diminishes the history and accomplishments of men or dilutes our eternal gratitude for their sacrifice and bravery.”

The Army Air Corps became the Army Air Force in 1941, and the US Air force in 1947.
We marched to that song (with Air Force, not Corps) in the lyrics back in basic training in 1976.

I find it hard to consider that the current force, probably having a hard enough time finding parts for outdated aircraft so they can still be a major part of the mission, needs to worry about the song. Must have come from a graduate of the University of Mars in Colorado looking for an achievement medal.

My Dad was Air Force, joining the Army Air Corp in 1947 retiring from in 1967. He and many of his friends will be rolling in their graves over this crap.
I spent 25 years active duty Air Force, my wife 5 years, and have 18 years civil service currently assigned to a Fighter Squadron. We are not happy about this at all.
It is not inclusive of Transgendered Lesbian Womyn of Color!
We (respect my pronouns!), as a differently-abled, black Spanish surnamed Native American lesbian trapped in the body of a cisgendered heteronormative white male of age and of size (That's old and fat in OldSpeak), feel rage at xyzzpq3 (respect my pronouns!) exclusion!

My Dad served in the Army Air Corps during WWII, and would often sing that song. But when he would sing the line “Nothing can stop the Army Air Corps” he would always add “except the women.”
I did 26 years in the Air Force. Glad they didn’t replace it with Kum-bay-yah....
I fully support the changes but would like the lyrics sung with rappers mixing and scratching.......

I am not a zoomie, mind you. The changes are kind of bland.
But the reasons they changed it are a cancer.
If I served there, singing that song, I would be pissed. I am sure the USN has already changed theirs, so I doubt I could characterize the AF as being more politically correct.
