Those Angy Days by Lynne Olsen
Great writer on WWII this book really focuses on the split American atmosphere prior to our entry into the war. From Charles Lindburgh on the isolationist side toFDR and those who saw America as the power to help save Europe from Hitlers dominance, it is a telling tale of how our nation has been deeply split in the past, much like we are today.
I will say Lynne Olsen also wrote 2 other highly recommended books
“Madeleine Fourcades” French female spy and Citizens of London on 3 well known Americans who lived in London during WWII...Must reads for any WWII enthusiast...
Read Thomas B. Costain's "A History Of The Plantagenets" A wonderful 4 volume work that is hard to find now. Full of marvelous quotes many of them witty insults, they had a way with words back then.
Yes, very unique and as a WW II history buff, a very welcome one. VDH is brilliant.
