Can a supreme court justice be removed?

The Constitution states that Justices "shall hold their Offices during good Behaviour." This means that the Justices hold office as long as they choose and can only be removed from office by impeachment.

How many votes does it take to impeach a Supreme Court justice?

If a majority of the members of the United States House of Representatives vote to impeach, the impeachment is referred to the United States Senate for trial. A conviction requires a two-thirds vote in the Senate.

What the left has in common is lack of common sense, voting and reacting on emotion and some sort of weird infatuation with self identity politics.

The last is really interesting, if you can’t look between their legs and figure out what you are is mind boggling.

In the sixties, there was a movement to impeach Chief Justice Earl Warren because of his rulings in favor of Communists, criminals and atheists.

Oh.... you are one of those..
I got some news for you... the box is already opened, and WE are the losers... and just who is WE?

That question is easily answered, by stating who we are not..

We are not the ruling class..
Activist judges, on both sides of the political spectrum, must be removed..

People who think like you are the reason we are where we are right now

I would disagree.

The odds are not 100%, but they are higher than 0.

The dems are fighting their own populist insurrection, and who better to throw at the mob than a Justice?

When they start packing the court by raising the number of justices, then I’ll agree with your sentiment.

We’ve had activist judges legislating from the bench for 7 decades. It’s not a new thing.

If the dems go full crackpipe radical with this stuff over the next two years, they will lose the house in 2022. Keeping the Senate and gaining the house is exactly what we need to curtail Kamala (and puppet boy biden) power grab.

Let them hurt themselves. The blue wave never happened (except for the cheating) and the house is within reach.

Justice Samuel Chase was impeached in the early 1800s, but was acquitted by the Senate.
Samuel Chase

The problem with impeaching anybody imo is the constitutionally undefined political parties have divided the Senate. So it’s difficult to get the 2/3 supermajority Senate vote to actually remove someone from office.

Corrections, insights welcome.

Impeach them all except for Alito and Thomas. When one state violates the constitution, all other states are prima facie harmed. Hard to believe that the Justices don’t recognize this.

All it takes to remove a judge is a pillow in the right place.
