“After being dropped off by a black SUV,”

When I lived in Sarasota, drug dealers were taking their users around to nice neighborhoods, dropping them off, and waiting for them to come back with the stuff they stole. Probably the homes were cased in advance and they knew which ones would be empty because those people worked. They skipped over mine on the day they hit my road because I’d lost my job and I was the only one on the street who wasn’t leaving every day. They’d break in by simply lifting the sliding glass doors in everyone’s back porch off the track. They’d spend only about ten minutes in each house. My guess is this is something similar.

“”In fact, in light of higher food prices, probably theft is a real concern, both at retail and wholesale,””

That’s probably one of the most brilliant statements we’ll hear this year.

I suppose they’ve had the syrup stored all this time just waiting for the butter!!!!

If they’re not careful $199,900 of it will spoil before being used.

A decade after sticky-fingered thieves absconded with 3,000 tonnes of maple syrup, a group of burglars made off with $200,000 worth of butter, the latest grocery-themed crime to hit Canada, and one that actually has a rich history in the country.

Now they just need some pancake mix.
