Bernie’s just pissed that he didn’t get another house out of the deal.
Maybe the “Big Guy” didn’t get his 10%?
I don’t profess to have the answer to this, but I wouldn’t look to Bernie for answers. So completely forget what Bernie says. The capitalist in me says competition is good. It creates lower prices, wider variety and better quality. On the other hand, there is such a thing as economies of scale. That can reduce prices if there still completion. If there is no competition, economies of scale solely increases profits.
But Amazon owns Whole Foods and Amazon Fresh. Both sell fresh produce both sell on line and deliver
They can also artificially lower prices in certain areas, destroy local mom and pop stores, and after those close they raise prices.
They also keep employees 1 hour under full time so they don’t receive benefits, and they sell ChiCom trash.
If only Bernie cared this much about the consolidation of media companies.
same here, I actually agree with Bernie for once.
“I would like to see someone ship groceries to homes, Walmart has almost entirely given up on it.
Costco has 2 hour delivery plus a delivery charge/tip.” We order online once a month via that plan. The savings on meat and good salmon more than pay for the delivery charge/tip.
Apparently, some Sam’s have a similar program.
We used the Walmart online and pickup at the local store for about 2 years before Covid. Then, the system went to hell re ordering and them demanding that you stay in your vehicle when your order was delivered. Also, you found out about shorts when you got home.
So we went to the Costco 2 hour delivery and really like it.
” In some, like Salina, Kan., or Durango, Colo., the share would exceed 90 percent.”
I find this had to believe since there is only on Kroger and zero Albertsons in Salina.
Still a monopoly.
Might work for most urban areas but what if you live in a rural area without Whole Foods? You won't be able to get fresh produce delivered to you from Amazon.
Sanders is the millionaire socialist who has 3 homes who took bribes and used campaign donations to buy those homes along with a Porsche. Never worked a real job his whole life.
He could give away 2 of the 3 homes to the homeless.
But ending rural life is part of the whole plan . They’re just not telling you.
Bernie, it doesn’t matter Publix is where we go!! Or Publix Greenwise, too.
Capitalism - The Rich become powerful
Socialism - The Powerful become rich
You want someone else to select your meat and produce? They will give you what they want, not what you want.
What I need is groceries shipped to the home, Amazon and Walmart do it but Amazon has very few of the affordable routine items and Walmart has done the same, almost entirely pulling off their regular food items.
That's why we need to be more aggressive and take antitrust actions against corporations. They'll all end up Democratic. They'll fix the marketplace into their favor. Big Tech. Big Media. You get the picture.
In Connecticut, there's Acme, Stop & Shop, PriceChopper/Market32, Big Y, Shop-Rite and IGA.
Bernie wants one supermarket chain : Government Stores.
