The owner Florida restaurant Rick's on the River has taken unique approach to dealing with growing problem of 'dine and dash' customers.
Ken Brackins, a second-generation owner of the Tampa establishment, installed 16 security cameras outside the establishment around two years ago and is now shaming customers into paying their bill by sharing footage of them on Facebook.
The system seems to be working, with Brackins catching nearly a dozen dashers who eventually paid their bill - with many begging him to delete the videos.
He told DailyMail.com: 'We believe it's been a deterrent for those that have been caught. They're embarrassed and hopefully won't do it again in the future.'
In the latest video posted last week, an employee confronts a woman in a Mercedes in the parking lot over an unpaid beer tab. Accompanied by circus music, the video provides a closeup of her face and captures her license plate.
It has gained significant attention on social media, garnering nearly 9,000 views and hundreds of comments, mostly supporting Brackins' unconventional method and condemning the customer.
The captions reads: 'This latest dine and dasher spent her beer money on a fancy, late model Mercedes. She refused to pay her entire tab because she said the wind blew over her pitcher of beer.

Good videos of the rip off artists at the source. UK Daily Mail.
The fact we have to go to a UK source says it all.
I like the approach.

Well then, that would be due to Climate Change.
Pay for the meal first up front before serving.
So do I. More business owners should adopt it.
I’d say that’s easier said than done, but okay.
On I-80 about half way between Tahoe and Sacramento there is (was?) a restaurant named Dine & Dash.
Never stopped there but always wondered what were they thinking????
There’s restaurants in Europe that do that.
LOL - sounds like my kind of place, don’t want to hang around.
Had to be lite beer
Interesting.
A lot of deya vu in your posted excerpt.
"The Fisherman's Arms posted CCTV footage and grabs on social media calling out the family who stayed for about three hours, had three courses and drank cocktails before walking out."
Baby, and all.
I’m hearing a lot of talk about similar concepts.
Much like starting a bar tab. Hostess, waiter or waitress takes a credit card scan before seating or taking food and drink orders.
I really like Ricks on the river. Great place!!
My buddy who lives on the 10th fairway has been having trouble with golfers urinating in his bushes. We discussed the possibility of setting up a video camera, making a greatest hits video, and posting it on YouTube.
He would, of course, put up a warning sign for anyone who doesn’t want to appear in the video.
She also didn’t speak English very well (I am thinking Cuban).
