Prominent Democratic Party strategist James Carville is claiming that "leading Democrats" have been telling him to hush up about President Biden’s difficult prospects for winning re-election in 2024.
In an article about Rep. Dean Phillips’, D-Minn., newly announced bid to primary Biden, The Atlantic spoke to Carville about his belief that the current president’s chances has a high mountain to climb as he seeks re-election.
The strategist disclosed that Biden’s numbers are "not good" and added Democrats are trying to get him to stop talking about it, not because he’s wrong, but because the idea is upsetting, he suggested.
Carville added that when he tells Democratic leaders that Biden is in trouble, they don’t disagree with him, they just tell him to keep it to himself. "Nobody is saying, ‘James, you’re wrong,’" he said. "They’re saying, ‘James, you can’t say that.’"
Carville told the outlet, "I’m looking at polling data, and I’m looking at all of it. The president’s numbers are just not good—and they’re not getting any better."
Carville, who has spoken to Phillips about his ambitions to replace Biden as the Democratic nominee, bolstered his claim, saying, "I talk to a lot of people who do a lot of congressional-level polling and state polling, and they’re all saying the same thing. There’s not an outlier; there’s not another opinion… The question is, has the country made up its mind?"
As a counterpoint, The Atlantic offered the perspective of former Obama 2012 campaign manager Jim Messina, who has been trying to reassure Democrats worried about Biden’s re-election prospects since the president officially launched his campaign.
Messina’s point was that "Biden’s already beaten Trump once. He’s the one guy who can beat him again."
However, Carville told the outlet he wasn’t buying that logic.

Run Brandon all through the primaries and conventions, all the way to October 1, 2024, at which point he will drop out of the race.
The first two weeks of October will be spent in a legal battle to determine if this is even possible. Then the Donks will name a new candidate who will win after a two week sprint to the finish.
The way to defeat this strategy is for the Republicans to go on record predicting this cynical strategy, repeatedly and loudly. Make sure the voters see the ball, starting at the RNC convention.
Make Robert Torricelli a household name again. Tell people the story of how this was done once. So they will recognize the pattern when they see it done again.
Then, when the shoe is dropped, respond in a way that is unexpected. Accept the legality immediately. Don’t let the Democrats even get to a court. Start campaigning hard against Kamala Harris immediately. Freeze the notion that she is the candidate the very first hour.
The Republicans should have Kamala Harris attack ads completed and ready to go by August 15, 2024. As soon as the camera clicks off of Biden, the next thing people should see is an ad attacking Harris.
Serpent head is assuming that the election is free and fair. Biden’s people are assuming that biden controls the balloting—so no matter the republican lead in real votes—biden will win more ballots.
“They have nobody else. None of their proposed alternatives is as popular as Biden”
Nobody heard of Obama until he “suddenly” appeared before TV cameras.
I’m sure the DNC has “plotted” the following—its in their genes:
Michelle would win over ANY Republican without so much as a single appearance—then she would relinquish the Presidency to VP Newsom.
