A man with a history of robbing banks has been sentenced to federal prison again for his latest heist.
John Charles Anderson, 40, will have to serve 12 more years, followed by five years of supervised release.
He's already serving three years for violating his last supervised release, which didn’t go well.
Anderson had finished serving time for committing five bank robberies but after a month, authorities said “Anderson armed himself, donned a mask, and robbed a bank.”
Skip
That was in January 2022.
The feds said he “pointed what looked like a semi-automatic handgun toward the teller and demanded money and got away with $941” from a SunTrust Bank in Tampa. They added, “Anderson was identified, in part, by his distinct hand tattoos, which read “KILL COPS” across his knuckles.” He escaped to Michigan and a week later, he escaped a traffic stop, but not for long.
Anderson crashed into a wall at a gas station and ran from there. Officers found a loaded gun, stolen from South Carolina, in the front seat of his car. Then, they found him hiding in a garage and arrested him.
In July, Anderson pleaded guilty to bank robbery with an assault by using a deadly weapon. Besides prison time, he’ll have to repay the $941 he stole as restitution.
“Anderson was identified, in part, by his distinct hand tattoos, which read “KILL COPS”
Are there any felons WITHOUT that tattoo?
That’s $78/year in license plates. Shouldn’t be a problem.
Except he will rob a bank when he gets out in twelve years to pay it back.
everybody should be good at something. he’s not hitting nike stores so there is that.
“Supervised release”
Where was his supervisor / babysitter?
Even if you really want that tattoos, if you are a criminal, and you know police will arrest you, is it really smart to have a tattoos that will piss them off, and lead to a poor outcome for you. This goes triple, if you are a person who believes all cops are corrupt.
The suspect was known to authorities....he was on our radar...etc etc
Maybe he’s one of these people who would rather be in prison, because he couldn’t handle the free world.
It might help if we knew the tone color of his epidermis. These are the IMPORTANT factors when sentencing people.
Criminals are stupid.
"You got caught every time."
"It's the robbing part I'm good at. The getting away part, not so much."
Cops: “He’s one of our best customers. Any time we need to arrest someone, he’s available!”
Bingo!
Maybe he’s one of these people who would rather be in prison, because he couldn’t handle the free world.
I didn’t think Florida had catch and release. Up here Hochul wants to parole permanently felonious convicts age 55 and up.
Probably thought they’d never suspect me as I’m on parole.
“That’s where the money is.”
