Since Nancy Pelosi has set the precedent that it is acceptable to tear up the SOTU address, I hope that Speaker Johnson does the same.
I don’t remember any democrats saying that Pelosi’s insulting and disrespectful actions were inappropriate, so I am sure the democrats will be ok with Johnson doing the same.
Pelosi set the precendent, I just hope that Johnson follows her lead and gives Biden the same respect the democrats gave President Trump!
Agreed. Gotta figure out how to wrestle a pig without getting dirty. I suggest a comedy routine to mock Biden.
While Trump plans to provide a simulcast commentary as Biden speaks, honestly it would be much better if the Republicans simply had him provide the post speech Rebuttal which is normally telecast live by the networks covering the SOTU. Instead they will be having a first term Senator from Alabama give it, normally given to someone the Republicans want getting national exposure.

That has a negative connotation. Republicans need to be positive.
A State of the Union speech should tell it how it is, and what Congress needs to do about it.
Johnson is turning into a Democrat.
I don’t remember Pelosi ever apologizing, or being forced to apologize for her ourageous, disgusting and childish behavior. She set, and lowered, the standard for acceptable behavior!
Her actions were a blatant and public “slap in the face” to President Trump. Democrats have no problem at all taking the low road. In fact, they excel at it.
I’m just sick and tired of Republicans “turing the other cheek”!
I called in to Brian Craig, co-host of the Steve Kane Radio show this morning and predicted that it would be DEMOCRATS who will be the ones to cause a YUUUUUGE SOTU disturbance with shouts of “CEASEFIRE NOW!” And those shouts might emanate not just from the gallery but from the chamber itself with Congress Squad critters such Tlaib, Ilhan Omar, and the fire alarm guy leading the shouting.
Speaker Johnson could just grunt and shriek a few times. Or say “WTF Joe That Ain’t True” as he hits him in the back of the head with another paper ball from page 2, rinse and repeat on page 3. By page 4 Biden will have lost his place and will explode in rage.
Time to check the pictures of Biden for his body double.
There are things that trigger Biden.... Johnson standing up behind Biden and calling for a fan because the stench from his diaper would be another cute one. Johnson stands up pinching his nose and a chocking as the smell makes him want ot vomit. The spectacle might be enough to expose this piker Biden for the fraud he is.
Another little trick would be to ask Joe in the middle of the speech when he stammers, can you repeat that, that’s not what my copy says, as Johnson trys to help old Joe out;)

Speaker Johnson is a weak man. He has no spine for the meaningful fight he is cowering from in the budget talks. He truly is “McCarthy v2.0”.
Naw, what needs to be done instead is everybody vote in November in masses large enough to literally stop any form of cheating. Then clean HOUSE in the New Administration.

I saw him being questioned by a reporter this morning about this and he said that what Pelosi did was a felony, and so he would not be doing it.
Placing a large box of Depends just above Biden’s left shoulder would be a classy touch.
It would be plausible if a glass of water got spilled and ruined the Speakers copy. Things like that happen.
I hope not. Our biggest problem is just that....Rebublicans acting like democrats.
