It’s just the flu, bro…Year 5 (a thread for Flubros and Flubras)

It’s just the flu, bro…year 5 (a thread for Flubros and Flubras)

Four years ago we started this series of threads based on the premise that…it’s just the flu, bro. Essentially that Covid is just the flu. It should have been nothing more, from an impact point of view, nothing more than a bad flu season. The symptoms, treatment, prevention techniques for Covid were all similar to that of the flu.

We present as evidence…

https://www.cdc.gov/media/releases/2024/p0301-respiratory-virus.html

an excerpt- “The new guidance brings a unified approach to addressing risks from a range of common respiratory viral illnesses, such as COVID-19, flu, and RSV, which can cause significant health impacts and strain on hospitals and health care workers.”

Essentially a few thousand words are in the government link, all saying the same thing - Covid is just the Flu, bro.

I didn’t post much on those threads but I never missed one - that’s why I didn’t need to be on the ping list LOL. Indeed strange times.

Really don’t think all that Kovid Krap changed anybody’s mind about our failing country but it did confirm all the things we knew weren’t right.

Thanks for doing that daily thread.

We were told in March/April 2020, by the “experts,” that 5% of Americans would die that year from CoVID. I’ll never forget or forgive the fear they created, and that includes freepers who bought into the lie and excoriated those of us who believed it was basically the flu.

______________________________________

Do you have a cite for that? I don’t remember hearing or reading that claim.

I do remember the head of the Ohio Health Dept., that dope Amy Acton, saying in mid-March that over 100K have had Covid already and wondering what the big deal was since no one had died and people weren’t dropping dead on the Diamond Princess.

No one at work died that year. Since the vaxseems came out, we’ve lost eight people and several people have had Covid multiple times.

Four years of continuous falsity.

Continuing the tradition of falsity by now conflating guidance for a completely different time period, different levels of immunity among the population as a whole, and different variant of the virus altogether.

And you do this without any embarrassment whatsoever. Completely shameless.

If Covid was any worse than the flu then I wouldn’t have repeatedly exposed my me and my family repeatedly to “dangerous” the Covid virus by ignoring masking and lockdowns whenever I had the chance.

Trump erred in keeping Fauci on and he erred in agreeing to the initial lockdown. Biden came along and said “ Hold my beer” and erred at levels I didn’t think possible with mandatory vaccinations.

There are a lot of Freepers who would probably rather we NOT look at their posts from the “pandemic” years. I remember many of their names. Don’t see many of them here these days.

Yeah, we 'conspiracy theorists' were right all along! Thanks for the new thread, impimp!

Remarkable - just conflate completely different time periods years apart, completely different stages/variants of the virus, and far different levels of immunity among the population, and claim you were "right all along." I guess if someone gets serious cancer and you tell them it was no big deal and they don't need to get any treatment, that if the treatment works and they are cancer free years later you would claim "I was right all along?"

I guess I'll go let the people I know that are dead they didn't really die and all of the people who suffered they didn't actually suffer, and the industry I was in didn't have the meltdown of issues from people getting sick never seen before and not seen since that none of that happened either.

Amazing you can say something like that without the least bit of embarrassment or shame. Extraordinary.

First days of the lockdown:

I distinctly recall The Pogues doing a free live broadcast concert from a warehouse somewhere. Their St. Patrick’s day gig had just gotten cancelled due to the lockdowns starting.

It is so jarring to one’s psyche to discover that one is wrong that I think, in most cases, a car wreck would be less damaging. Many people experienced this…the Flubros and Flubras, however, avoided this by being correct from the beginning.

Dead is dead. The fact is that China had killed over a million American people. Only Rand Paul is actually saying something about it. And he's attacking Dr. Fauci for covering up the coronavirus pandemic.

The government reaction to the virus was worse than the virus itself, IMO.

We should have been more like Sweden.

Most of the dead Americans were elderly. Sucks that that had to die. But life went on without them. We took a beating shutting down the country. So we won't be doing something like that again. Even if we face a similar situation with China sending another supervirus to kill us all.

True.

But the above posts are like saying when the Spanish Flu began someone saying it wasn’t a “big deal”, then when the pandemic was over them saying they were “right all along” based on what was happening years later when the virus was far less deadly after the bulk of the population had become immune to it...as though conflating two completely different time periods, mutations of the virus, and levels of immunity of the population can just be conflated like that to make a valid argument. Just shameless nonsense.

Question: Was the swamp weaker by the end of President Trump’s administration, or more powerful?
- Say, powerful enough to get away with stealing elections?

Did the shadow government end up with less power or more after Trump’s final year in office in 2020?
- Say, enough power to get away with imposing medical/technological tyranny?

Can it be said that they got more than they ever could have dreamt if they had gotten Hillary for president in 2016 instead?

Re: 15

I was gung ho President Trump until he left the White House in 2021 and I realized what he left us with.

Well, the average age of death from c-19 has been and remains around 80 years old. It is not unfair to compare it to the flu IMO. Some of us FReepers were on the right side of history and other were bewitched by government and pharma propaganda.
