I’m not a doctor BUT . . . blood thinners will turn you into a hemophilliac type bleeder. They’re fine for short term (like after stents or surgery). Long term, I take nattokinase which has been proven to break up clots. That’s my two cents.
I had to go to ER because of nosebleeds, and it cost me $500 for three months. So I had a “Watchman” procedure, which theyry insert into one of the chambers (via angiography, so no chest cutting). It has worked great. Ask your Cardiologist about it. No more Eliquis!
Everybody is different I guess, but I have been taking Eliquis twice a day for two and a half years after a stroke, I have had exactly one short nosebleed and that’s it.
I was on blood thinners for a year after a Stent.
I didn’t like the cardiologist I had for other reasons and changed.
In the first office visit with the new doctor I asked him why I was left on thinners for
that long.....he stated there is no good reason for extended use of blood thinners and pulled me off ‘em immediately.
The bruising, and sensitivity to cool weather really sucked....and God forbid you knick yourself or get a proper cut, it’s a real ordeal to get it to clot.
“Long term, I take nattokinase which has been proven to break up clots.”
Not proven.
