O.J. Simpson Murder Trial Witness Releases Video After Star's Death
Newsweek ^ | 4/11/24 | Kaitlin Lewis

Posted on 04/11/2024 12:09:47 PM PDT by DallasBiff

Kato Kaelin, a key witness during O.J. Simpson's murder trial in 1995, issued a video statement Thursday afternoon offering his condolences to Simpson's family following the ex-NFL star's death.

"Foremost, I'd like to express my condolences to the children to Sydney and to Justin to Jason and Arnelle," Kaelin said in the message shared to X, formerly Twitter. "They've lost their father and that is never easy."

Simpson's family announced on Thursday that their father has passed away at the age of 76 after battling cancer.

Simpson played 11 NFL seasons, nine of them with the Buffalo Bills. He won four NFL rushing titles and played in five Pro Bowls. He later had a career in show business before being acquitted in a 1995 trial of charges he killed his former wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ron Goldman.

Kaelin also addressed the families of Goldman and Brown Simpson.

"I wish to express my love and compassion to the Goldmans, to Fred into Kim. "I hope you find closure," he said. "And finally, to the family of the beautiful Nicole Brown Simpson. May we always cherish her memories. Nicole was a beacon of light that burden bright. May we never forget her."

Furman didn’t have to lie about the use of the N word. That blew the case.

Bull sh*t. That was just another excuse to throw the case to appease the blacks. Most of the jurors were white hating black racist.

My wife and I were on the transition from the 57 to the 22 freeways and saw the White Bronco pass underneath as it traveled north on the 5. Listening on the radio as it happened.

The look alone on Kardashian’s face at the NOT GUILTY verdict spoke volumes....I still think he got rid of the knife when he took the hanging wardrobe case of OJ’s at the house that night when the cops took OJ away. I remember searches were made in the alley behind Nicole’s condo where there were fences and a knife could have been thrown out there - something about nicks in picket fences that could have been caused by a thrown object. So many possibilities!

Believe it or not, the murder weapon was a Swiss Army knife. A really big one, which surprisingly they make.

I saw an interview with Mark Fuhrman in which he talked about all the evidence they had regarding the knife. They never found the weapon, but they found the box it came in. They also had testimony from people who witnessed OJ possessing it and making wide slicing motions, and then saying "You could really cut someone up with this". Or words to that effect.

Sounds about right.

Well Kate and Oliver said they watched Kurt on TV standing behind the tape in OJ’s yard. They had another story about him beating some guy up which was pretty funny too. Apparently he’s a real character. 😉

Forensics at the OJ Simpson Trial

Evidence Collection

From the beginning, there were issues involving evidence collection. An important bloody fingerprint located on the gateway at Nicole Brown’s house was not properly collected and entered into the chain of custody when it was first located. Although it was documented in his notes by Detective Mark Fuhrman, one of the first to arrive on the scene, no further action was taken to secure it.

The detectives who took over Fuhrman’s shift apparently were never aware of the print and eventually, it was lost or destroyed without ever being collected. Other items of evidence were also never logged or entered into the chain of custody, which gave the impression that sloppy forensic collection had been carried out at the scene.

Securing the Evidence

Throughout the investigation, there were issues with how evidence was secured. There was about 1.5 mL of O.J. Simpson’s blood assumed missing from a vial of evidence. The LAPD could not counter the idea of “lost blood” because there was no documentation of how much reference blood was taken from Simpson as evidence. The person who drew the blood could only guess he had taken 8 mL; only 6 mL could be accounted for by the LAPD.

To add to the problem, the blood was not immediately turned over as evidence but was carried around for several hours before it was entered into the chain of custody, allowing for speculation of when and how the 1.5 mL of blood may have disappeared.

The security of LAPD storage and labs was also brought under scrutiny when it was discovered that some pieces of evidence had been accessed and altered by unauthorized personnel. Simpson’s Bronco was entered at least twice by unauthorized personnel while in the impound yard; Nicole Simpson’s mother’s glasses had a lens go missing while it was in the LAPD facility.

One of the drawings Fuhrman had in his book - his own drawing -was of a Swiss Army knife. Fantastic artist - several pencil drawings in his book.

It would make sense that it was a Swiss Army knife that he could conceal - even if larger than most? There was scuttlebutt that OJ had the knife on him when he went to LAX to take that flight to Chicago and someone saw him at a large disposal (garbage) can out in front of one of the terminals and toss something in. Unless he cleaned it off extra clean, his clothes would have had some blood on them, I’m assuming. The limo driver didn’t say anything about it and in Chicago he was told by phone that Nicole had died. Some said that he never asked HOW or any questions at all?

He had a busy night - dance recital, kill two people, go home, go to McDonald’s with Kato, take a nap, take a shower, call the limo service, catch the red eye flight...

Other items of evidence were also never logged or entered into the chain of custody, which gave the impression that sloppy forensic collection had been carried out at the scene.

The issue was that the amount of evidence was so massive, that it was simply too much for the teams to look at and process to the degree necessary to cover everything.

Everywhere they looked was evidence, so with thousands of pieces of evidence, it's easy to lose some of it.

All of this completely ignores the fact that the evidence against him was massive and compelling.

The problem was the vast majority of the jurors were black women who simply would not vote to convict a "brother." One of them even said this very thing after the trial.

Idiot DA worrying about "optics" shifted the trial from Brentwood district into Los Angeles, and that is where the trial got screwed up.

Funny thing is, before the murder and trial, OJ wanted nothing to do with black people, he was the toast of White America.

All of the fumbling of evidence, by LAPD, opened avenues for reasonable doubt. Including the avenue:

LAPD detectives corrupting, forging, nudging the evidence.

Black males 15-35 commit what % of murders and rapes in America?

12% are black. Then half male. 6%. Then in that age group?

2% committing 50% of all crimes?

Scott Adams was right!

Disagree. The case was overwhelming, and nobody could be so perfect that they could get thousands of pieces of evidence collected perfectly.

The evidence collected was also overwhelming, and speaks for itself.

OJ did it, but was let off because the majority black women jury didn't want him convicted and clearly didn't give a sh*t what evidence was presented.

Plus, the following, did not help the prosecution:

Thursday, September 7, 1995:

Roanoke Times / AP

Detective Mark Fuhrman was called back to the witness stand Wednesday [09/06/1995] and was asked point blank whether he planted evidence against O.J. Simpson. He refused to answer, invoking his Fifth-Amendment right against self-incrimination.

I remember disparaging OJ at work, and one of my co-workers remarked that he was acquitted by a jury of his peers. I replied that was the problem. It was a jury of his peers.
