Former White House Press Secretary Jen Pskai has no issue with President Joe Biden's seeming disinterest in doing press conferences, saying he should entertain the ladies of The View instead.
Biden has given just 89 total interviews and three press conferences in his first three years in office, a noted dip from former President Donald Trump's first three years, where he gave 300 interviews and 54 press conferences.
The current president has chosen alternative media of late, appearing on The Howard Stern Show and the popular Smartless podcast.
Psaki was appearing herself on the daily ABC gabfest and asked about how Biden should balance the demands of the press as he heads into another presidential campaign.
'The benefit of the media environment right now — there's a lot of challenges, but I'm going to start with the optimistic side — is that there are so many choices,' Psaki said, praising Biden's appearances with Stern at Smartless co-hosts Jason Bateman, Will Arnett and Sean Hayes.
She then went on to say that Biden should follow her lead and appear with the ladies of The View.
'When you're communicating from the White House, I mean respect for freedom of speech and freedom of the press is important, but you're also just really trying to communicate with the American people, right? So my view is he should come on "The View" before he does a press conference,' she continued.
Biden has taken flack for not being as publicly open with the press over his presidency.
White House officials claimed in 2023 that this is part of a deliberate strategy to go around the traditional news media to connect with audiences 'where they are,' without being subjected to the filter of political or investigative journalists, according to The New York Times report.

For a moment, I thought that this was something from the Babylon Bee.
From what I observed Trump informally and personally fielded questions from the press almost every day. Walking out to Marine One he frequently walked over to the assembled press behind the rope and sparred with reporters. At public events he frequently entertained ad hoc questions. Unlike senior Democrats who refuse to be interviewed on Fox or Newsmax shows, and who appear on mainstream media only in carefully scripted programming, Trump frequently gave unscripted sit down interviews with hostile journalists at all news outlets.
If the press were truly independent, professional, objective, and truth seeking journalists would be demanding frequent unscripted press conferences and interviews with Biden. Their behavior and words are compelling evidence they are simply propagandists for an agenda.

Me too, because Biden usually never does press conferences.
The View becomes the White House spokespersons, and John Fetterman becomes the voice of reason in the Democrat party. Some kind of wholesale inversion has happened, and nobody saw it coming.

It worked before, so WHY would he do things differently now? I mean, hiding out in your basement and producing surgically edited podcasts, etc. is about the only way an unprincipled, brain dead, Communist tool can score.

She’s right, Biden is incapable of holding an actual press conference, he never has and the media is fine with it.
