"The junior Senator* from New York should exercise caution in her self-righteous fulminations [ie 'What did the President know and when did he know it?'], given the voluminous dirty laundry and skeletons stuffed into her own spacious walk-in closets at her spiffy Georgetown estate."

* As always, "B!tch" may freely be substituted here.

Just got this e-mail from J.D. Hayworth, Congressman, R-AZ. He sure is fulminating over the 9th Circuit's removal of the Pledge of Allegiance from schools.

. FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Wednesday, June 26, 2002

Congressman Hayworth Condemns Ruling That Pledge of Allegiance Is 'Unconstitutional'

Calls for July 4th Day of Prayer for Speedy Overturn of Decision

WASHINGTON - Congressman J. D. Hayworth issued the following statement following a ruling by the 9th Circuit Court that the Pledge of Allegiance is unconstitutional:

"Rather than upholding the Constitution, this decision tramples it and ignores the will of Congress and the American people. It will surely be overturned. I would urge every American to make July 4th, 2002 a day of prayer for the prompt review and rejection of this outrageous ruling by the Supreme Court of the United States.

"There is a reason the 9th circuit is the most overturned court in the country and it is crazy decisions like this. To equate the term 'under God' with a state religion stretches logic beyond the breaking point. It is judicial activism run amok."

"The liberals on the court and in Congress have tried to run God out of public life, and the judges in this case are hiding their anti-religious bias behind a cloak of constitutionality."

Congressman Hayworth has signed on to a House resolution condemning the decision and also participated in a recitation of the pledge on the Capitol steps with other members of Congress.

Good for him. I got an email earlier from Ray Clatworthy, the Republican trying to get Biden out of the US Senate:

CLATWORTHY SAYS COURT WRONG TO FORBID THE PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE

DOVER - United States Senate candidate Ray Clatworthy called the
9th Circuit Court of Appeals ruling that the Pledge of Allegiance was
unconstitutional "absolutely absurd." The federal appeals court
declared the Pledge unconstitutional because of the words "under God."

"This ruling is absolutely absurd," said Clatworthy. "Our
heritage is a heritage of faith and freedom - to strip either away is a
sorry, short-sighted attempt to dismantle everything America stands for.
I suggest these judges review their history books, to discover the very
people who penned our Bill of Rights esteemed the value of faith and
freedom."

In 1954, President Eisenhower gave his support to the phrase
"under God" when added to the Pledge of Allegiance saying, "in this way
we are reaffirming the transcendence of religious faith in America's
heritage and future; in this way we shall constantly strengthen those
spiritual weapons which forever will be our country's most powerful
resource in peace and war."

"While America wages war on terrorism, our soldiers should have
complete confidence that we will fight ridiculous efforts to steal away
America's most precious resource -- faith in God ," said Clatworthy.

This month Clatworthy received an award from Citizen Flag
Alliance for his dedication to protecting the flag. Clatworthy
promised to support a constitutional amendment protecting the flag from
desecration. Senator Biden has voted six times against such
protection.

"As the U.S. Senator from Delaware, I will fight to protect our
heritage and our greatest symbol of freedom - our flag," said
Clatworthy. "It's impossible to pledge allegiance to a flag you are not
willing to protect - the two are inherently tied together."

I'm inclined to agree with you.

For what I am sure are obvious reasons I am not on joe Biden's email list (LOL) so I don't know if has said anything publicly.

I'm juts hoping that Clatworthy will trounce and bounce the SOB out of the Senate in November.

A number of years ago, I was fortunate enough to meet a young lady who asked me to drink some about an hour before the evening ended quite nicely. Been using it ever since.
