What is so difficult to understand about an across the board tax cut? While I'd like to see a far more drastic reduction in taxes, I'd much rather see zero redistribution of wealth. That is far more damaging to society and would have a far greater impact on working families than a mere tax cut per se.

Have you ever been to MSNBC chat?

Okay - I accept that

Perhaps instead of being a smart **** you could explain to me why a tax increase is good for me. I still have to pay these same taxes you claim only affect the rich?

I must say that I hope to see you again. But it can not be for some time. At quite

a bare minimum, I expect that "john in missouri" shall not post again, at the very

least, until after the earth has passed its circuit around the sun and the date on

the calendar reads 2004... and it may be much, much longer than that... perhaps

many years.

Eddie, things have come to a pitiful state when somebody no one else knows posts and then even reposts the most boring opus in FR history on a crucial electtion day. Hell, you'd need a Mayan calender to even try to figure this dribble out. It's pitiful....

Remember when A+Bert used to get get drunk and post a vanity thread titled, "Jim Robinson, you can go to Hell" and everybody would have a great time? OWK, with his maudlin "OWK's Opus", only he's still around? "The Last Flight of the Pelican"? We need standards for opusing, the latest offerings have been dismal.

It's pitiful....

True....it's the "Jonathan Livingston Seagull" of Opuses...

But I was trying to be nice because... hey....
It's Election Day...
a time of peace and goodwill.

(And hopefully later tonight... good, drunken rants)

"Well I was hoping for a rant. Good luck to you."

Yeah. I love the smell of a rant in the morning...

So my recourse is to vote for someone who openly voices their approval to increase my taxes??

I still don't see how it helps my financial situation to have my senator's hand in my pocket??

That tells me you are lower class, so why do you want the wealthy to get huge tax cuts, while you get an insignificant tax cut?

Because, THEY BUY WHAT I MAKE! If they have more income they will buy more and I will make more. Ask the people who used to be in the luxury boat business. High taxes drove them out of business. They were the "working people" but because some dufus had the bight idea of a "luxury" tax they work no more.

Thanks a lot!

Seems the wealthy need a tax cut to prosper>

Another senseless remark. Need to work on your critical thinking skills.

I'd much rather see zero redistribution of wealth.

Me too.

But the tax legislation in the past 40 years has redistributed wealth from the working people to the rich.

Oh I understand now.

Because ONLY rich people buy your product, you want the rich to have more money to buy more of your product.

Yes, I understand now.

It doesn't.

But what happens is one year they lower taxes, a few years later they raise taxes.

When they lower taxes it's for the rich, when the raise taxes they hit the working people as yourself.

An "across the board" tax cut is good monetary policy. As it freed the most money possible from government coffers.

That's too funny considering the bottom 50% pay virtually no federal income tax. As usuall your perspective is warped.

That would be okay, except that the wealthy got a higher percentage than the working people.
