In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of word for the day. Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the word of the day; in a sentence. The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. The Review threads are linked for your edification. ;-) Practice makes perfect.....post on....
raffish \RAF-ish\, adjective:
1. Characterized by or suggestive of flashy vulgarity, crudeness, or rowdiness; tawdry.
2. Marked by a carefree unconventionality or disreputableness; rakish.
Etymology: Raffish derives from the noun raff (chiefly used in the compound or duplicate, riffraff), meaning "people of a low reputation."
Good Morning, riffraff!

Two Jewish cannibals were fighting over a missionary. Each was hungry and anxious to start eating. They agreed to share the meal in the following manner:
"I'll start from the head and eat my way down. You start from the feet and eat your way up," said Murray.
After a while Murray asked Abe how he was doing.
"I'm having a ball," was the reply.
"You bastard, you're eating too fast."

No trade. You can keep your liberals.

congrats to you, eala! Thanks, xsmommy. Don't think I'll do that again. The classroom is much too reverberant without a bunch of bodies to soak up the sound!

The reference was in Lucianne's description of the article, I don't remember it being in the article itself. Something along the lines of "The Broken Glass Republicans have done their jobs well" or something like that. I guess I should have copied it onto our thread for you, but I didn't realize you were gone. Oh, well.
