As a former buckeye let me just say that I'm ashamed that the dixie chicks are in ohio tonight!

Or maybe sales so dismal they were ashamed to go on?

Their whole nationwide tour was sold out before Natalie opened her fat mouth in England. So it's something else.

What I think is that there are going to be mad people in Cleveland. Either they're mad at the Ditzy Chicks' anti-American spew or they're now mad because they got "stood up".

Estrogen says, Something extra interesting is that on the radio today I heard this announcement: " Due to a stage configuration change, there are now seats available for tonights Dixie Chicks concert at the Gund Arena"

Then Templar says, A credible terrorist threat against the concert, maybe. Or maybe an accident. Or maybe sales so dismal they were ashamed to go on? Even though I don't like em, I hope it wasn't a threat or accident. Bad attendance sort of appeals to me though.

Considering what Estrogen offered, I would vote for Option #3. "Stage re-configuration indeed." BWAHAHAHAHAHA!

usually they give refunds if a concert is rescheduled. It is up to the ticket holder.

See post #13 from willieroe. It is supposedly due to an illness and the concert is rescheduled so no refunds. Isn't the large one about to lay her egg or something?

Maybe I should start a thread on "Substitues in Bands".

////
Would be very enlightening.

Problem is, all of us substitutes can't. It is in our contract and we could be sued. Big time.

Ok, so I went out and made $225 for the night. I can't say a damn thing about who I replaced. Thats the way it works.

rescheduling a concert means breach of contract. I have always seen rescheduled concerts mean refund or accept new date. It happened to me thats why I am saying it. (tickets were from ticketmaster)

from the FAQ pageCustomer Service of www.Ticketmaster.com

""""

Who handles refunds?

Ticketmaster assumes responsibility on cancelled events for those tickets sold through our Internet site, call centers and ticket outlets. The decision to allow refunds is made by the venue or promoter. Typically the face value of the ticket and the convenience charge are refunded, but because the processing and delivery of the ticket order has already occurred, the delivery and order processing fee is not refunded.

How are cancellations, postponements and artist venue changes handled?

Occasionally, events are cancelled by the promoter, team, band or venue. Should this occur, and if you purchased your tickets online or through the phones, you may receive a refund or exchange for that event. Please note that delivery and order processing fees cannot be refunded.

should have added to above:

It seems if you bought in line, your refund is up to the promoter. Given the pits of unpopularity of the Dixie Chix, the promoter has nothing to loose by refusing refunds to already upset fans. The promoter is protected by anonymity and only the chix popularity is exposed.

Dixie Chicks Concert Called Off One Hour Before Start Time in Cleveland

Only Spinal Tap fans will understand this:

Maybe they couldn't find their way from the dressing room to the stage.

Don't know much about country music these days but I do know Cle and I'm guessing folks figure more bang for the buck buying more beers after bowling league.

Put together with other things, you have to wonder if the real reason is that they didn't sell enough tickets.

Naw. Their manager called around and found all the eggs, rotten tomatoes, etc were sold out.
