The Hobbit Hole IV – The Road Goes Ever On…
Posted on 08/04/2003 9:43:18 AM PDT by HairOfTheDog
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
The Road Goes Ever On
The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

Mornin'. It's good to be back.
It is not good, however, to see that the leaves are already falling. My yard, that we finally got cleaned up after Isabel, is covered in leaves this a.m.

I guess that means that at least one of the enemy oak trees has survivied?

All 16 of my oak trees are still standing. For that, I'm thankful. But they could've been kind enough to hold onto their leaves for a couple more weeks...

Is an industrial-strength vacuum cleaner in order?

Are those red oaks? Is it fall, already? We have red and white oaks. And yes, it does appear to be fall.
I'm just whining a bit. Since we were gone for four days and we left with the yard looking pretty clean, it was just a bit startling to come back to more leaves.

Hey P2B! Good to hear from you!
PurpleQ and I have a big weekend going down in Waco this weekend if you happen to be that far north!

Mornin' Sam
I'd take those leaves to compost!
I think it just got to be autumn in Texas yesterday. Maybe. It kinda seemed like it for the first time yesterday.

d'ja get m'check?
To: Sam Cree; Corin Stormhands
Yeah, I miss all the oak trees down around home. Here I've got pecans - they are beautiful shade trees but I hate dealing with the constantly falling branches and I never pick up the pecans.

You've got pecans?! Do ya need some sorry little nut-thieving tree rats to take care of 'em for ya?
To: Overtaxed
Got some of them too.
And my dad took off with the pellet guy from Myranda's graduation. :-(
Good morning!
