It means the moderator has decided that this thread has degenerated into a "flamewar" or "heated discussion" and removed it from the sidebar, and buried it. If you look all the topics and keywords have been removed, except for "heated discussion." I don't know why it happened on this thread.

When the thread was first posted it was listed under News and had this URL:
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1051196/posts.
It was then relocated to the Backroom and given a new URL of:
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-backroom/1051196/posts
Moving the thread to the backroom is like being banished to Siberia.
