I know a group of white Rodesians who immigrated here 20 years ago. Don't know what it is like today. I thought people who ask for political asylum could come here. What happened?

I believe the rule was that if you had one great grand parent who you could prove was British or Irish you could get one of those passports. Englishmen moved in and out of the area so most of the English speaking population could do this if the wished. Those of Dutch, Portuguese, and other European ancestry could not leave with only a South African passport as no one would take them.
