FREDERICK, Md. -- A Frederick County judge has granted probation before judgment for a Frederick woman caught with marijuana because she was able to prove she needed it for medicinal reasons.
It was the first Frederick County case since the state adopted a new law ending jail time for people who use the drug out of medical necessity.
A lawyer for Jodi Delli, 32, said his client had a letter from her doctor explaining that smoking the drug had done more to ease her pain than prescription pills.
She was arrested in November after her neighbors told police they smelled the drug.
Under the new law, Delli faced at most $100 fine. Without a showing of medical necessity, the penalty could include a year in jail and a fine as high as $1,000.

Not for cancer, glaucoma, or nausea. Not for chemo, MS, or AIDS. It's for pain. Good ol' unprovable pain.
Wanna bet she was smoking pot before she ever went to see her doctor? Don't take the bet. 99% of "medical marijuana" patients already smoke pot before they even see a doctor and get a written "recommendation" to do so.
What a coincidence, huh?
To: Sweet Land
If true, it does show that THC is very potent in it's effects on the brain. Any relief of pain would be only one of many effects, however.

Since side effects don't tell us whether it should be a medicine, why did you bring them up?

Well now,
Doctor Quack
Sweet Land, let's say I am a 55 year old diabetic male who has been diagnosed as having Acute Megakaryoblastic Leukemia (AML-M7). I am taking chemo, and wish to smoke marijuana to relieve my nausea. Are there any negative side effects associated with smoking marijuana given my condition? Are there any drug interactions that I should be aware of?
Since you support the smoking of marijuana for nausea, will you sign a recommendation?
To: robertpaulsen
The straw is flying now. I never claimed to be an MD, nor have I made any statements that require an MD's knowledge as a foundation. Plenty of MDs are recommending marijuana, and I doubt they're all quacks.

Spread the sand and start dancing, clown. Mr. Big Advocate of smoked marijuana for cancer and nausea, and he doesn't even know what he's talking about.
I don't care if you're no MD. Just stop pretending to be one.

I sincerely hope that one day you are faced with an illness (like cancer-chemotherapy or migraines) that pharmaceutical medicines won't touch and you need cannabis to alleviate your pain. It comforts me greatly to know that you will live in excruciating pain and misery, rather than be a hypocrite and use a plant that God put on this earth. You deserve nothing less, ahole.
To: rebelyell
I hope you are happy following Sweet Land into the land of legalized crack and heroin. That is his goal and all this bs about medical marijuana is just a scam perpetuated on us by Sweet Land and Soros. Go do your homework.

What if I told you (and could prove) that 99% of medical marijuana patients in California were already smoking pot before they went to see a doctor about their illness -- who then signed a recommendation for them to acquire legal marijuana?
Would you think that this is mere coincidence? Or do you suspect that maybe some kind of fraud is being perpetrated on the American people?
