SYRACUSE NY--Something didn't smell quite right to North Syracuse police when a village resident came in Friday looking for a little help.
What stunk was Brian D. Courbat, 21, of 130 Lynhurst Ave. He wreaked of marijuana, police said.
Officers Jeff Tripp and Rocco DePerno said when they asked him about the odor, Courbat told them he had just used marijuana, something he routinely does three or four times a day. In fact, Courbat had several packets of pot on him, police said.
Courbat wanted the police to help him with the background check necessary for a pistol permit. Instead, they charged him with unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation, and gave him an appearance ticket.
Then they informed the Onondaga County Sheriff's Office's pistol permit bureau about Courbat's activity.
What an idiot!
Pot forever!
(/sarcastic Libertarian rant off)
Unless they happen to be a homeless, female, black-Muslim, transvestite, homosexual dope smoker! They truly have all the rights!
Well, I mean, come on, gang. It could have been this! (/sarcasm)
I guess some background checks are easier to carry out than others! I don't know if this particular locality has the right to ask an applicant why they want a pistol permit, but if so, I can just hear him explaining that it's because he always carries a lot of dope and is afraid of being robbed.
Dude, where's my gun?
"He wreaked of marijuana, police said."
This writing reeks.
