Border Militia: We'll Shut Down the Border with Machine Guns
Casey Nethercott is the leader of a militia group dubbed the Arizona Guard and said during a TV interview broadcast on Friday, "When this Minuteman thing is over, if it doesn't work, we're going to come out here and close the border with machine guns."
KVOA TV-4 in Tucson carried a report on Friday by reporter Nancy Perla that toured the group's compound that sits along the Arizona/Mexico border near Douglas, Arizona. The camera showed two older model American made SUV's, both painted black, that Nethercott claims are "armored vehicles" with "quarter-inch steel in them." Pointing again to the vehicles, Nethercott continued, "You'll get killed without them, here's been so many shootouts out here."
The camera then shows a concrete block wall riddled with bullet holes that Nethercott says came from drug smugglers. The report titled "Mimicman Projects" by KVOA calls them copy cats and says the project could begin on July 4, though Nethercott would release no details.
The Minuteman Project stated through Chris Simcox, who is an organizer for the project, that they don't support a violent solution. "I think anytime you go to that length to take the law into your own hands, you're asking for trouble," Simcox told KVOA.
The armed militia supports the Minuteman Project, but says that if they fail to close the border to illegal border crossers, his group will step in and be heavily armed to do the job.
"And loser scumbags like Vicente Fox need to start doing what is necessary to promote a Mexican economy worth staying home for."
That is the crux of the whole issue. The best thing for Mexican citizens would be for us to close our borders. The only thing open border proponents are supporting is keeping an entire country mired in poverty. Their zeal to allow a few to escape is actually what will keep the vast majority of Mexicans in squalor.
How is that good for them or those in the US?

It would force their leadership to support an economy for their own country. If their leadership failed, a revolution would occur. If the Mexican citizenry was so satisfied with their leadership's economic policies, they wouldn't be streaming across the border.
With the option of pushing his people out of Mexico, Vicente can take no action and pay no price for it.

I agree...America has now taught hundreds of thousands of ILLEGAL Immigrants trades such as carpentry, drywall installation, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, roofing, etc. These skills are easily transferrable to their homeland, and forcing a repatriation of ILLEGAL Immigrants would do wonders fer the Mexican economy!!

You understand that Mexico considers that all the Mexicans that are in the US, legally and illegally, are here on loan. They are here to tide the US over during our labor shortage. They expect the Mexicans to eventually return. That is one of the reasons that they created dual citizenship.
As time goes by, market reforms in Mexico will continue. Capital will continue to flow in. The birthrate will continue to fall. Education levels will continue to rise. Mexico has an abundance of natural resources. Their economy will expand. Opputunities for Mexicans will expand.
At some point in time there will be no Mexicans available to come to the US. It has been published that 2016 is the date. Whenever, 2012-2016-2020, that time will come.
And not long after that, the Mexicans will begin returning. Obviously, those that are established and successful here will not leave, but many/most will.
If you think having too many Mexicans in the US is a problem, wait until there are not enough.

What labor shortage?! There are plenty of Americans willing to do everything and anything the ILLEGAL immigrants are doing, just not fer the dirt-cheap wages the unscrupulous employers are paying them.

We can only hope that the national problem we have with ILLEGAL Immigration will be solved a lot sooner than that.

Not enough what?! ILLEGAL, under-valued grunt work?! If I've said it once, I've said it 1000 times, the problem with ILLEGAL Immigration is not the Immigration part of the equation, it is the ILLEGAL part of the equation!! There are hundreds of thousands of Mexicans waiting patiently to enter the US as LEGAL immigrants, and I bless these folks fer their patience. As fer the scofflaws, the sooner they return to Mexico, the better...then, if they want to come and work in the US, they can get in line with the rest of the folks!!

Ben, as it stands now, there are ILLEGALS doing many tasks in America that would need to be done by LEGAL sources when the ILLEGALS are returned to thir country of origin. However, the labor market will adjust accordingly and the work will be completed. Framing, drywall installation and the like ain't exactly rocket science...heck, even I can do it to a certain extent, so it can't be that irreplaceable.
