"Considering that you couldn't answer the question in any capacity, apparently, so are you."

No, I'm not the one that is confused.

YOU are the one that admits you can't tell the difference between legitimate medical research and illegitimate so don't call ME confused.

Maybe you'd better lay of the weed so you have the hope of thinking clearly - dope clouds your mind as you have shown. There's a reason WHY they call it dope - turns you into a dope.

I thought Bill Clinton wanted pot legal. I wonder why?

Yeah, right...

Marijuana Arrests Soar Under President Clinton

In 1999, 704,812 people in the United States were arrested for marijuana "crimes." * This was an increase of over 85% from the 380,399 arrested in 1993 **, Bill Clinton's first year in office.

Many more were arrested for other drugs. Evidently, the era of big government is not over yet.

Numerous public leaders have admitted to smoking marijuana, like President Clinton, Vice President Gore, Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich, and Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas.

One question, if you will:
If Clinton, Gore, Gingrich and Thomas don't belong in jail, why do all those other people belong in jail?

Bonus questions:

If smoking marijuana kills your ambition, how do you explain Clinton, Gore, Gingrich and Thomas?

If sharing marijuana with a friend is a felony, why don't we feel the same way about Clinton, Gore, Gingrich and Thomas as we do about rapists, robbers and murderers?

US Court of Appeals Judge Douglas Ginsburg admitted smoking marijuana for years. All he was able to achieve during this time was to serve for several years as Professor at Harvard University. Imagine what a good job he could have gotten if he had not been smoking pot.

Charles Rogers admitted using cocaine almost daily while a college football player at University of South Carolina. All he was able to achieve at this time was winning the Heisman trophy. Imagine how well he would have done if he were drug-free.

Apparently you are wrong.

YOU are the one that admits you can't tell the difference between legitimate medical research and illegitimate so don't call ME confused.

I asked you how you told the difference. You couldn't answer. That sounds to me like you are confused. Or you just don't know. Either way ....

Maybe you'd better lay of the weed so you have the hope of thinking clearly - dope clouds your mind as you have shown. There's a reason WHY they call it dope - turns you into a dope.

You mean like telling people you know how to tell the difference between legitimate medical research, but utterly failing to be able to elaborate?

What kind of drug does that to someone?

My 33 y.o.step-daughter just went through hell with UC. She has had problems off and on for several yrs.
Last Fall she had a major attack .
She spent a month in the hospital. They couldn't do anything with it.
She lived on ice chips and IVs.
They finally gave up on meds and removed her colon. That required 2 operations, one to remove and another to reconstruct.
She had gone from 130 lb to less than 100 lb.

She has to take low doses of antibiotics everyday and still has some minor problems occasionally.

It is an awful disease, extemely painful.

Maybe you need to be on Marijuana.

Your replies show me you are unable to think clearly and I hate to say it but you are sounding like a worn out record. Through making dope a part of your life, you wouldn't easily see what it has done to your ability to reason so if I may say, don't call attention to your inability to do this.

"Maybe you need to be on Marijuana". Okay, let's see where nmh goes with this.

Your replies show me you are unable to think clearly and I hate to say it but you are sounding like a worn out record.

Okay. Personal attack. No great suprise.

Through making dope a part of your life, you wouldn't easily see what it has done to your ability to reason so if I may say, don't call attention to your inability to do this.

Did anyone else understand that last paragraph? Okay, I admit that I'm not the brightest bulb on the tree, but that just made no sense to me. I sense in there that a personal attack was attempted, but it seemed to have gone awry somewhere after the first comma.

And nmh still didn't explain why he/she thought the study methodoloy was illegitimate, unless the explanation was buried somewhere in the last paragraph ... which I didn't understand.

Can someone who speaks 'nmh' please translate for me.

Maybe he/she is right. Perhaps one does need to be on Marijuana to understand his/her posts. Cause I sure as heck don't understand them sober.

I see this is becoming an emotional issue with you.

When you are truly "sober" and calmed down, review your replies to me and then maybe, just maybe you'll stop making such a fool of yourself.

Take care and lay off the weed - it's not doing you any good.

"In support of my position, I point out that you cannot cite more recent references due to the governmental ban on "legitimate medical research" in this area since the mid-90's."

My lack of additional and more recent study is your justification to recommend home-grown marijuana to a chemotherapy patient? Whoa! Why do I have the burden?

Where's your documentation/reports/studies/ that positively supports your position, recent or otherwise? Where are the recommendations from medical organizations such as the AMA, the National Cancer Institute, the American Cancer Society, the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the American Lung Association, et.al.?

Seems to me that you're pretty cavalier about recommending a drug unsupported by any major medical organization, with unknown potency, unclear drug interaction, an "as needed" dosage, smoked (no less) by a cancer patient, with no FDA approval, and self supplied with possible bacterial and fungal presence.

Oh, and I bet you want the "doctors" to have protection from potential medical marijuana malpractice suits also, huh?

Maybe you've noticed that humans are not walking on all fours anymore, and that we've gone beyond ripping up weeds and smoking them to relieve our ills. Treat marijuana as any other prescribed drug -- I don't see why it deserves special status, especially when it merely duplicates the effects of other existing FDA approved drugs and has no unique properties.

Yes, I'm crying as we speak.

When you are truly "sober" and calmed down, review your replies to me and then maybe, just maybe you'll stop making such a fool of yourself.

Don't try to redirect attention to take away from your embarrassment. You made a statement that you could not even begin to back up. It happens. Admit it and move on. The attack thing is just desperate.

Take care and lay off the weed - it's not doing you any good.

I don't personally use marijuana. Not that theres anything wrong with it.

[muawiyah, post #89]: They [alcohol and marijuana] may be regulated in different manners. Dopers should live in fear. Beer should be for sale in the Safeway neighbor!

Why shouldn't drinkers live in fear?

Well, why shouldn't they?

YOU claimed they shouldn't (see above), so you tell me.

it's probably best to stick to the topic.

I am sticking to the topic: YOU addressed the topic of alcohol vs. marijuana in post #89.

You did it first. To wit:

To: LifeOrGoods? A dope addict affects all he comes in contact with. I have the same to say about Alcohol, the worst drug in America. So should both be legal and regulated, or should both be illegal? 88 posted on 08/14/2005 4:56:35 PM EDT by Know your rights (The modern enlightened liberal doesn't care what you believe as long as you don't really believe it.) Free your mind of that which blinds you.

Blinds me from what? Drunkenness and eternal death? Turn the light on. Let Jesus open your eyes and sober your mind.

You're arguing off point, Bill. I've never heard of a law that incriminates someone for admitting that they at one time in their life smoked marijuana. The person would have to be possessing it at the time of arrest in order to be charged. I never said to send people to jail for simple possession anyway. A nice expensive fine will do.

Nobody in their right mind argues that smoking marijuana doesn't kill ambition.

If sharing marijuana with a friend is a felony, why don't we feel the same way about Clinton, Gore, Gingrich and Thomas as we do about rapists, robbers and murderers?

Ha hah, very funny. You put Clinton and Thomas in the same bag, you must have got ahold of that 'dro.

US Court of Appeals Judge Douglas Ginsburg admitted smoking marijuana for years. All he was able to achieve during this time was to serve for several years as Professor at Harvard University. Imagine what a good job he could have gotten if he had not been smoking pot.

Again, must be the 'dro.

Charles Rogers admitted using cocaine almost daily while a college football player at University of South Carolina. All he was able to achieve at this time was winning the Heisman trophy. Imagine how well he would have done if he were drug-free.

My point exactly. You think the powder made him better? Funny, real funny.

You're arguing off point, Bill.

Your original assertion was thet Bill Clinton wanted pot legal.

I merely pointed out that you were wrong in your assertion.

Nobody in their right mind argues that smoking marijuana doesn't kill ambition

That is no more true than saying that alcohol kills ambition.

A chronic drunk has less ambition than someone who smokes pot on the weekends.

Ha hah, very funny. You put Clinton and Thomas in the same bag, you must have got ahold of that 'dro.

Why not, you have. You seem to believe that all pot smokers are evil. This simply points out that pot use goes across the board politically.

I would wager that just as many "conservatives" as "liberals" like to get high now and again.

My point exactly. You think the powder made him better? Funny, real funny.

The point is, it didn't make him worse.

You sir are drunk on the delusions of the promise of afterlife.

Jesus has opened my "eyes"......and has thus closed my mind.

I prefer the open mind.

Thanks for the reply.

Good day.

Your original assertion was thet Bill Clinton wanted pot legal.

Last time I checked, the President of the US has nothing to do with vice arrests.

A chronic drunk has less ambition than someone who smokes pot on the weekends.

Yeah, and a pot head who smokes on the weekends has no ambition till Monday.

The point is, it didn't make him worse.

A cranked up idiot is worse than a sober one. Newsflash cocaine impairs judgment and causes organic brain damage. What medicinal purpose would you conjure up for cocaine?

When the government properly discourages users from destroying their brains, no human rights are being violated. If a human does have a right to destroy himself, where does that right originate? If society does not give him that right, then who or what does?

Who said anything about killing the brain. Use is not necessarily abuse. I abuse no "drugs" and resent those that want to control my life.

You obviously need to be controlled which is evident from your slavish subservience to your metaphysical superbeing. Now who is demonstrating the "open" mind.
