Another thing that I'm doing is - - my son was killed in 2004, so I'm not paying my taxes for 2004. If I get a letter from the IRS, I'm gonna say, you know what, this war is illegal; this is why this war is illegal. This war is immoral; this is why this war is immoral. You killed my son for this. I don't owe you anything. And if I live to be a million, I won't owe you a penny.
And I want them to come after me, because unlike what you've been doing with the war resistance, I want to put this frickin' war on trial. And I want to say, "You give me my son, and I'll pay your taxes."

My husband retired in 1994, so as you see, I'm slightly out of date with my guesses. That's quite an improvement (and a welcome one).

Looks like she didn't want to pay taxes under the Clinton administration, either.
To: fish hawk
I have a suspicion that she believes they like her "for herself." Boy, is she about to get a surprise.

If they can put a murdering criminal like Al Capone in prison for not paying his taxes, can't they do the same to Cindy Sheehan?

Regarding Mother MoonBat: Go to Advanced Search at Google. Type in 'Cindy L. Sheehan". Up comes a book review she did at Amazon, then go the link marked 'read other reviews by this person'. It will give you an extended picture of this woman. Just confirms what most of us are thinking.

Yep, I think between refusing to pay taxes, her antisemitic remarks, calling the president a murdering, lying b*stard, flip-flopping on her previous meeting with the president, and pissing off the locals, Cindy's time has about run it's course. And, her "new friends" will dump her like they never even knew who she was.
To: Sam Hill
If Bush brings back her son she will pay taxes again - Does she mean from now on? Or will she pay back all she owned since 1996?

If Bubba was still president and this was against him, Ms.Sheehan would be in great danger of an immanent "accident".

I was down there Friday night and she is as ugly in person as the pictures portray.....I do believe that the neighbors down there could direct some of our famous fire ants to the goofies campsite which would probably convince them that they are not welcome. We Texans do have a way of making things happen!!

Lots of people try to use non-profit organizations which they set up -- as a way to make money for themselves.
No, lots of people USE non-profits to make money. I've been ranting about this for years here. Did you know that Consumers Union is a non-profit? The group that publishes Consumers Reports? The took in $160 million in 2004 and have assets of $90+ million if I recall correctly. Or how about the Carter Center? Jimmah Carters organization. In 2003 they took in $127 million and have a huge amount of assets. Or what about Judicial Watch? They have collected $70+ million the past few years. How how about PETA? Etc, etc, etc.
These are hardly charities. Many of these outfits are in business to push their political egendas and/or enrich their handlers. We need to reform the non-profit corp. laws in America!!!!

Call me cynical, but she's using the political arena to make herself "bulletproof" against such mundane things as tax evasion. She learned well at the feet of Sharpton, et al.

Ummm, since most folks don't actually own their own homes outright, what happens to the co-owner aka the lender in IL? I've never heard of such a silly system.

kinda getting dirty here
As I understand it, Sheehan brought the issue of 'not paying taxes' into the arena. She can't cry foul afterward, if it comes back to bite her.
