PHILADELPHIA, Nov. 21 (UPI) -- An 18-year-old single father whose struggle raising his toddler daughter was featured in People magazine has been killed in Philadelphia.
Terrell Pough was shot in the head on his way home from work Thursday night and later died at Temple University Hospital, the Philadelphia Inquirer reported.
Police said they have no suspects but do have a possible lead. No further details of the slaying were released.
The August issue of People profiled Pough, who worked as the night manger at a local restaurant while attending school full-time and raising his daughter, Diamond, who will be 2 on Nov. 27.
"She's what I work for, what I live for, why I wake up," he told People. "She's everything."
Diamond, who had full-custody of his daughter, had planned to work in construction after graduating next June.
"If something ever happens to me, no one can ever tell her that her dad didn't take care of her," he told People.
I'm agreeing with you. It's yellowdog I judge to be an a**clown!
Pay no attention to them; they live lives so miserable that they have to try to make themselves feel superior to other people by posting under anonimous names on an internet news forum.
We've ALL made mistakes; some of us are just honest enough to own up to them and try to make our lives better.
We don't call them "The Prig Patrol" for nothing!
But what about the other claim....can't back that up can you?
Once again, I have shown you to be a liar.
I'm a liar because onyx isn't online right now and can't back up what I said?
She'll be around soon enough -- you can then call her a liar, too.
Do you want me to ping the rape thread people or not?
Like you are one to talk.
I could care less what you think about me...I resort to personal attacks??? You came on this thread only to attack me, you could care less about the story.
The writing is on the wall for everyone to see that YOU ARE A LIAR.
Back it up or shut up!
Delusional.
I'm not trying to change the subject; I'm backing up my statement that you have a KNOWN HABIT on this forum of trashing victims of crime.
BTW....I remember the comment you are referring to and IT WASN'T ME....but you know better...so back it up...I am waiting.....
Yes, it was you, because we had a "discussion" then about you insinuating she was a lesbian because she wasn't married.
Post the comment......or quit lying.
Plus, get over Harriet losing...you lost, it is over.
Folks, like Ninian, yourself, and Yellowdoghunter would never get past the violent gang leader he was to praise the gentle man of Christ he became.
Because they don't believe in redemption. Plain and simple.
It's not surprising when a good kid goes on and becomes a good man. It is however extraordinary when someone pulls themselves up from the very bottom to continue on to do good. Unfortunately the perfects don't get that. They would have ran Paul out of town, because of the vile man he was before Damascus.
And they don't want to. Look at the posts by Yellowdoghunter. She's not wishing with all her might that the victim was involved in something (forgive me for saying it) neferious to justify her condemnation. She won't admit it, but it's transparent that she desperately wants this young man to be anything other than a good man walking home at night.
I'm not going looking back through your posts all the way back to the end of September.
I'll just let my reputation for posting facts stand for what I said.
I didn't give a whit about Harriet Miers; I just hated what people like you did to her; but you do it to everybody, so why should we have been surprised?
Even worse, IMO: if Jesus was alive today, they'd be talking about how he wears dresses and hangs around ONLY with a bunch of men.
Well, better than staying a violent gang leader I suppose. But how about not getting involved in gangs to begin with?
Exactly what I meant. Excoriating him for the gang member he was rather than what he he became. Thank you for the exclamation point.
This is the key, polly.
The young man sinned. No one here (that I have seen), is saying that it was just fine for him to father a child out of wedlock.
But to not acknowledge that he was admirable for taking responsibility and turning his life around, and to continue to rant about others' being 'afraid' to distinguish right from wrong (when that isn't happening on this thread), is missing the entire point.
I'm sure the accuser has sinned............and I'm sure she has been forgiven. Too bad she doesn't seem to understand that this young man's sins are no more grievous in the eyes of God than her own (or yours or mine).
yellowdog............ALL of our righteousness is as filthy rags relative to God's holiness. For one who preaches to others so ferociously, your theology is somewhat lacking....
