February may be our shortest month, but it’s filled with notable events. This month, we celebrate Groundhog Day, Chinese New Year and Washington’s Birthday. We also commemorate President’s Day as well as every lover’s favorite, Valentine’s Day. February has also been reserved as Black History Month. After doing just a little digging, I was struck by the significant role the Republican Party played in not only emancipating slaves in the antebellum South, but also in accepting and elevating them into American society. I was also amazed by how often the Democratic Party thwarted the GOP’s efforts.

Upper Marlboro, MD --(Ammoland.com)- The month of February 2012, I plan to provide a little black history knowledge here on the Urban shooter podcast. Actually it’s a series on American history sub-categorized as black history. Knowledge alone is not power. It is what we do with knowledge that gives us power. Gun control is based on Racism. American patriots know and fight against it, usually with those that should be our allies. The black person in America has always been a part of the gun rights argument. like it or not, it is, what it is. I have discovered that...

(STATEWIDE) The homicide rate for African Americans in Wisconsin is almost five times the national rate. A new report using FBI statistics ranks Wisconsin in the top ten for the percentage of black murder victims. The figures are from 2009. Of the 146 murders in the state that year 79 of the victims were black and most of them 66 were young black men. Most 60 percent knew their killer. Josh Sugarman heads the Washington, D.C. based Violence Policy Center that produced the report crunched the numbers and produced the ranking. He says gun control laws are the key to...

Ah, the left-wing capacity for rationalization knows no bounds. While we’re told that even substantive criticism of Barack Obama is driven by the hatefulness the left has dubbed “racism,” a racial attack by three black teenagers on two white men in Philadelphia this past Monday is, somehow, not. Consider the scenario, and then tell me why we even have “hate-crime” laws. Wrote Stephanie Farr at Philly.com: About 8:25 p.m., a cab was stopped at a red light at 15th and Chestnut streets when two 17-year-old boys and a 15-year-old boy approached and started calling the male passenger in the back...

Obama’s plans of hope and change have utterly failed his most ardent constituency. Today, the wreckage is overwhelming.

This is a great call into Rush today from a self-identified black man named Dennis who has finally abandoned not only his support for Obama but says he is considering dropping his support for the Democrat party too. And his tipping point was Obama’s pandering to environmentalists in rejecting the Keystone Pipeline. Here’s the full call:

There is an urgency to bring the truth about the conservative principles of fiscal accountability and personal responsibility to the 95% of the Black community that feels beholden to big government liberalism. Today the PolitiChicks discuss the upcoming documentary 'Runaway Slave' and the impact it could have on the political landscape for both blacks and whites. Follow us:

Paul Weston’s latest essay concerns the apparent indifference of the British media and political establishment to racially motivated crime — unless, of course, that crime is committed by white people against non-whites... The mainstream media (MSM) have devoted a great deal of space to the Stephen Lawrence case of late. Many journalists have commented that whilst Britain was a racist country in the recent past, the Britain of today is a much more tolerant place. This may well be the case with regard to white-on-non-white racial crime, but what about the violent crime committed by non-whites on whites, and what...

Law enforcement officials investigating the beating death of a Florida A&M drum major may have to decide if it was hazing or possibly a hate crime. Twenty-six-year-old Robert Champion was found unresponsive on the team bus in November after the Florida Classic football game in Orlando and later died. Police ruled the death a homicide. Champion's parents Tuesday said while they don't think Champion was beaten just because of his sexual orientation they plan to sue Florida A&M, which their lawyer, Christopher Chestnut, said "has a 50-year history, a culture in this band, of hazing," WTVT-TV, Tampa,Fla., reported Tuesday. "This...

Merry Christmas everyone! I hope you’re having a lovely vacation. Because I’m not actually on vacation. Unless you consider drinking coconut coffee from the Keurig while I work in my office a vacation. Because I don’t. At any rate, I saved the US taxpayers nearly $4 million by not being First Lady and flying off for a 17-day vacation in Hawaii on the taxpayers dime. You can thank me later.

Earlier we just got confirmation out of Best Buy that one can not, as expected, offset negative margins with near-infinite volume (as the stock tumbles). Now we get advance retail sales proving that all speculation about a record Black Friday was just that. Oh, and a lie. In short - everything missed. Advance retails sales in November (including Thanksgiving) came at 0.2%, on expectations of 0.6%, and down from a revised 0.6%. Retail sales less autos was 0.2%, half of the expected 0.4%, while ex Auto and Gas also printed at 0.2%, also missing big. So... where did all...

When the Civil War ended, and after Republican President Abraham Lincoln freed the slaves, Democrats initiated Jim Crow laws to keep the black man down. Democrats didn’t much like blacks. In fact, the KKK, as you know, was founded as the the terrorist wing of the Democrat Party. Setting the Record Straight A group of black activists led by Wayne Perryman has filed a brief against the Democrat Party for its long history of racism and discrimination of the black community.

You and I are politically well informed. But there are many Americans like my family who do not follow politics as closely as we do. Their political views are shaped by liberal media bias hit pieces, spin, and sound bites. 99.9 % of my family are Democrats because Marcus family traditional taught us the Democrats are "for the little guy." Republicans are "rich white racists." Liberal media and the Democratic Party jointly support and promote this silly, simple lie, which still wins the Democrats 95% of the black vote. Despite me — the eldest of his five children being a...

Can you imagine the bloated ego and over-the-top taste to live in such exaggerated -even cartoonish- opulence? A Saudi Prince, ya think? Russian oligarch? Chinese billionaire? Or was it Louis XIV of France...? Any guesses yet? Why, this bodacious crib belongs to none other than Soviet-trained economic incompetent, tin-pot dictator, and self-proclaimed "Hitler of all time"... Robert Mugabe Just contrast that pad with most Zimbabweans living in grinding poverty with a 95% unemployment rate and hyperinflation that topped-out at 6.5 quindecillion novemdecillion percent (6.5 x 10108%!) ... fact is, the poor wretches he's ruled over for thirty years have never had it so bad: Zimbabwe...

This is a question being asked to the masses out there? With the change in store hours, how was/is your black Friday experience?

The Occupy mob has shown its true face with its call to “Occupy Black Friday” and boycott retailers. The consequences of a boycott like that, if it were effective, would not hurt the rich. It would hurt the employees of the stores. Of course, the Occupy mob does not care about them. Their goal is very simple. They want to crash the economy. The more people they can force out of work, they believe the greater will be the demand for revolution. We have to answer them. Our answer is simple. We will Occupy Black Friday for America and Real...

There has been a ton of backlash from the media for Michelle Obama being booed at the Ford 400 at the Homestead-Miami Speedway in Florida on Sunday. However, even if it is considered disrespectful to the office of the First Lady, is it justified? On his Monday show, radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh suggested it was certainly justify and deserved. According to Limbaugh, it was rebuke of the Obamas and some of the policies they have promoted while in the White House. “Bottom line: We don’t like being told what to eat,” Limbaugh said. “We don’t like being told...

Workers angry as Black Friday creeps into ThanksgivingBy Kavita Kumar St. Louis Post-Dispatch Friday, November 18, 2011 ST. LOUIS – Lyndsey Shaw has been on the front lines of Black Friday in years past, helping to open the Best Buy store in Brentwood, Mo., by 5 a.m. But when Best Buy decided to follow other retailers this year in moving up its opening time to midnight on Thanksgiving, Shaw worried she would have to miss her family’s tradition of going out to see Christmas lights after their holiday dinner. “We don’t usually get everything cleaned up and out the door...

A black website published one of my articles. The black publisher asked his readers to forgive me for being a black member of the GOP and review my article with an open mind. In response, a subscriber wrote, "You can ask us to look past him being a GOP, but you can't ask us to look past his claim to be a tea party Christian." Grateful for an opportunity to enlighten indoctrinated blacks, I asked the website publisher to publicly post my reply to the ill-informed subscriber's comment. WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama acknowledged on Wednesday that black Americans have faced "enormous challenges" with unemployment under his watch, and appealed for their support in pursuing solutions that he can implement without help from Congress. Appearing at a daylong White House summit of black business, community and political leaders, Obama said the current 15.1 percent unemployment rate among blacks is "way too high," and that various other problems that plagued black communities before he took office, such as housing and education, have worsened.

A National Association of Evangelicals board member is calling on African-Americans to vote for their conservative convictions in the 2012 election, describing President Barack Obama as a theologically liberal candidate. Bishop Harry R. Jackson. Jr., senior pastor of Hope Christian Church outside of Washington, D.C., asked blacks to re-evaluate their tendency to “flock the polls” in support of Democratic leaders in an opinion piece published Friday in The Wall Street Journal. Blacks, he noted, espouse traditional, conservative beliefs on social issues rooted in their faith. Yet, they often vote for Democratic leaders with liberal leanings. “Most blacks have looked the...

This "Cain Train" took off right after Sarah Palin decided she would not run for the Republican nomination for president. Since then I've noticed that Herman Cain fears no one to the right of him and seems to cherish the fight with those he considers to be to his left(politically speaking). Do you think that Herman Cain is the (CAIN+PALIN) express because of his conservative values? Can Herman Cain win if Palin won't endorse a candidate in the primaries? Do you believe Herman Cain has proven to be equal or better than Palin as a conservative? Finally, Why as Herman...

In his Miami Herald column, Leonard Pitts Jr. tackles the issue of whether GOP presidential hopeful Herman Cain is a self-loathing black man because of his alignment with the Tea Party. He concludes that the bootstrapper who grew up in the segregated South is uncomfortable in his skin, not because of his Tea Party alignment but because of his own personal ideology. This is for those who keep asking what I think of Herman Cain. In particular, it's for those who want to know what the tea party's embrace of this black businessman turned presidential candidate says about my claim...

Rev. Al Sharpton and a professor recently debated the “blackness” of GOP presidential hopeful Herman Cainz. Sharpton tore into Cain, saying “how could anyone in their right mind that grew up in the South and saw what they saw, sat up there and act like everybody that is unemployed and not rich did it to themselves.” “Start with your Mama,” Sharpton said. Tough words coming from an ultra-liberal, but he is absolutely right. You see, Herman Cain, grew up in the South at the height of the civil rights movement, so it’s quite obvious he knew exactly how blacks were...

Presidential candidate Herman Cain said Sunday that he didn’t believe racism was a major factor holding minorities back in America, asserting instead that African Americans had a level playing field on which to advance economically. “I don't believe racism in this country today holds anybody back in a big way,” Cain said on CNN’s “State of the Union.” “Are there some elements of racism? Yes. It gets back to if we don't grow this economy, that is a ripple effect for every economic level, and because blacks are more disproportionately unemployed, they get hit the worst when economic policies don't...

BEGIN TRANSCRIPT RUSH: I have here a series of sound bites, they're from MSNBC, Lawrence O'Donnell interviewing Herman Cain. One, two, three, four, five of them. Our policy here, ladies and gentlemen, is not to include on our sound bites the employee of the network. We just use the guest. It's primarily about fair usage. For example, Lawrence O'Donnell doesn't work here, he works at MSNBC. So what happens on his show within time constraints is free for us to use under fair usage rules, but we've always drawn the line at actually using the talent unless it's just a...

Today, Andrew Breitbart published some photographs of an event in March 2007 where Senator and candidate Barack Obama shared a stage with Malik Shabazz of the New Black Panther Party. It was not, as the mainstream media wants to believe, a mere coincidence. Certainly not to Malik Shabazz himself. It may be difficult to appreciate now, but at the time of that event, Senator Obama was still considered a long shot for the White House. Hillary Clinton was still ahead in the polls, and had already secured endorsements from civil rights icons like Rep. John Lewis (D-GA). Meanwhile, Obama’s support...

Democratic strategist Cornell Belcher says there is a media "double-standard" over Herman Cain saying blacks have been "brainwashed." Belcher calls Mr. Cain a bigot and a racist and says this incident is a "teachable moment." (h/t TRS) CORNELL BELCHER, DEMOCRATIC STRATEGIST: First of all, do you think you're going to invite me on the show and then I'm not going to talk about the ridiculousness of that statement? Barack Obama speech reopens rift with black criticsBy JOSEPH WILLIAMS | 9/29/11 5:03 AM EDT It was a speech intended to be a rousing call to arms for his 2012 re-election campaign and his jobs bill. But when President Barack Obama told a gala dinner of the Congressional Black Caucus over the weekend that it was time to “stop complaining, stop grumbling, stop crying” and get to work, he instead gave new ammunition to some prominent African American critics who say the nation’s first black president gets tough only when he’s talking to other black people. **SNIP** By the middle...

Obama Responds to Black Voters’ DiscontentBy Charlotte Young September 27, 2011 02:03 PM **SNIP** In Monday’s interview, Obama defended his record asserting that he is working hard to help those in the south side of Chicago to those living in Los Angeles barrios and Appalachia. But he remained firm in his stance to keep government programs issue-focused, as opposed to race, stating that “that’s not how America works.” “And so when we put forward a program like, for example, the health-care bill, our focus is people who don’t have health care,” Obama said in the interview with BET News. “Now...

Rep. Waters: Obama ‘got carried away’By Alicia M. Cohn, Daniel Strauss and Mike Lillis 09/26/11 09:19 PM ET Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) on Monday tried to downplay friction between the black community and President Obama but warned the president might have gotten “carried away” in remarks made over the weekend. Waters, a member of the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC), appeared in a number of media interviews on Monday following Obama’s speech to the CBC Gala on Saturday, where the president told the audience to “stop complaining, stop grumbling, stop crying.” Waters said that there was room for improvement in the...

Rep. Joe Walsh: Media protect Obama because he is black, liberalBy Jamie Klatell - 09/23/11 05:59 PM ET Rep. Joe Walsh (R-Ill.) said the media protect President Obama and will work to get him reelected because he is black. “This guy pushed every one of the media’s buttons,” Walsh said in an interview with the Media Research Center. “He was liberal, he was different, he was new, he was black. Oh my God, it was the potpourri of everything.” Walsh was responding to a question from Media Research Center President Brent Bozell about the “race warfare games” of the Obama...

Black President, Double Standard: Why White Liberals Are Abandoning ObamaMelissa Harris-Perry September 21, 2011 This article appeared in the October 10, 2011 edition of The Nation. Electoral racism in its most naked, egregious and aggressive form is the unwillingness of white Americans to vote for a black candidate regardless of the candidate’s qualifications, ideology or party. This form of racism was a standard feature of American politics for much of the twentieth century. So far, Barack Obama has been involved in two elections that suggest that such racism is no longer operative. His re-election bid, however, may indicate that a...

(CBS/AP) JACKSON, Ga. - Georgia executed Troy Davis on Wednesday night for the murder of an off-duty police officer, a crime he denied committing right to the end as supporters around the world mourned and declared that an innocent man was put to death. Defiant to the end, he told relatives of Mark MacPhail that his 1989 slaying was not his fault. "I did not have a gun," he insisted.

African Americans appear to be cooling their support for President Obama, with “strongly favorable” views of the president dropping dramatically from 83 percent five months ago to 58 percent today, a new Washington Post-ABC News poll shows. The drop in support among black voters mirrors the declining support for Obama among all groups.

A white supremacist who was sentenced to death for the murder of a black man in an horrific killing that echoed the atrocities of the lynching era is to be executed today. Lawrence Russell Brewer, 44, is scheduled to be put to death by lethal injection at 6pm for his part in the 1998 killing of James Byrd, Jr in East Texas. Brewer was one of three men convicted of killing Byrd after they offered him a lift along a remote country road.

What’s the most obvious difference between Bill Clinton and Barack Obama? HALIFAX - The hiring of a white woman as executive director of the Africville Heritage Trust, a body created to redress the destruction of a Halifax-area black community in the 1960s, has generated a polarizing debate on race. Burnley (Rocky) Jones, a Halifax lawyer and human rights activist, is calling for the dismissal of Carole Nixon after she was recently hired to help oversee the trust. Jones said he believes the hiring process was flawed because the job wasn't widely advertised and that Nixon's hiring ignored the sensitivities of some in the local black community. "How could a white woman...

Barack Obama has gone to Congress asking for more money to spend. The President, in a rambling and tedious exercise mixing blame with demands, made quite a few dubious statements in laying out the case for Congress to vote for the plan which as yet does not exist. Much like Obamacare, Congress must ultimately vote for the bill to know what is in it. At one point Mr. Obama made a major gaffe; he identified Abraham Lincoln as the founder of the Republican Party. Lincoln did not join the Republicans until 1856, over two years after the party was founded....

he sometimes strange and increasingly alarming “age of Obama” continues to bring the average American startling and upsetting news. Recently joining the race for the 2012 Republican nomination for president is Texas Gov. Rick Perry. Perry, in his third and final term at the helm of the state, has rapidly moved to the front of still fluctuating field of candidates. Perry's standard line is that he can do for the nation what he has done for Texas, which he says is create jobs, maintain public education and balance the budget without raising taxes. But the numbers, and Black residents of the state, tell a different story. "I just want America to wake up and look at the true picture,"...

Minorities Become A Majority In Washington Region By Carol Morello and Ted Mellnik August 30 Washington is among eight big-city metropolitan regions in which minorities became a majority in the past decade, according to a new analysis of census data showing white population declines in many of the largest metro areas. Along with Washington, the regions surrounding New York, San Diego, Las Vegas and Memphis have become majority-minority since 2000. Non-Hispanic whites are a minority in 22 of the countryÂ’s 100-biggest urban areas. The white population shrank in raw numbers in 42 of those big-city regions. But every large metro...
