Interesting, nobody I know would lay a hand on the face slapping hate mongering professor. See a Christian would never act in this manner, there is a Book that defines what is acceptable and what is NOT, and this does not fit a Christian profile.

It sounds like it. It would take a serious wuss to beat someone with a metal object and for them to only get away with scrapes and bruises.
It also has too many hokey references. A pickup truck? Two white males? He is looking to make the "stupid rednecks want to fight instead of talk" ploy.
If it did happen, I hope they jail whoever did it. But my bet is on that this is a staged event.

That was the first thought I had when I read the headline.
Our town supposedly had a rash of violence against peace protestors and Muslim property shortly after 9/11. Every incidence was phoney, or no evidence was found to back up the so called incidences.
My money says it was a phony episode.
IF he was really beaten up by strangers, it was probably a robbery and he saw an opportunity to bash Christians.

No bet here. I think it smells of when that professor out west (Evergreen St.?) faked a hate crime not too long ago.

it has the same feel as the story about the sailor who claimed racial discrimination, derogatory names spray painted on his door, etc., thru turned out he'd done it himself

It could certainly be phony. There's plenty of precedent for it among lefties such as Mirecki. However, to be fair, it could also be legitimate. Mirecki may be a hypocrite and a kook, but that shouldn't merit a beating.
Hope you're right, because to think that someone would defend Christianity with violence like this is a stupid thing to do.
I say it's a phony incident if you're keeping track.
