Sadly, this looks like the road they are herding us down. Doesn't it? I should use this sign while I still can:
In some states, you can't do that! I'm certain I read/heard that you cannot smoke in your car if you have a child in the car with you.
The same "sound" research behind polls and global warming is going to lead us to a police state seen only in the movies and books.
No escape is there: "Studies show smoking in cars 75 times more dangerous than using cell phones!."
They've got an interesting bait-&-awitch going on down here in Texas now. THey're going to raise the tax on cigarettes by a buck a pack (and raise the so-called Franchise Tax on businesses). I think they hope everybody will get focused on the sin tax and forget about the business tax, which is much more onerous. Seems to be working. I heard a news report that lead "Smokers will pay more to light up if...". The franchise tax was not even mentioned.
As long as you keep your windows up - don't want the driver in the car behind you to catch lung cancer from your second hand smoke now do you?
AT LEAST I CAN STILL SMOKE IN MY CAR
Ah, ah....not in Arkansas.
