I am giving a lot of thought to removing my elephant GOP bumper sticker

I am giving a lot of thought to removing the elephant GOP bumper sticker I've had on my Jeep since 2003.

I feel like right now, the GOP is run by traitorous scum intent on selling our our Republic.

I have the sticker on still because I support the small govt IDEAL of the GOP - I just no longer feel like the GOP is focused on that direction.

Thoughts?

Just park your car anywhere in ‘The People’s Republic of Madistan.’ The leftist hippies will scratch it off for you while they ‘key’ the paint job on the rest of your car. They did that to mine for FREE in 2004. :)

Don’t be a quitter. Grow up. Quit whining. Stand and fight.

I have a Nixon campaign button. I’m going to take it to ‘Antiques Roadshow’ in a few more years. ;)

Let see, the ONLY thing standing between you and your worst nightmares on Immigration is the political spines of 41 GOP Senators, so of course the solution is to spend all our time screaming hate at the GOP?

Perhaps all the 100%ers might remember the GOP House Leadership they fired last Nov for not being dogmatically pure enough had this Immigration thing DEAD?

Perhaps all the screamers MIGHT want to keep in mind that 90% of the votes in Congress for this stupid bill will be DEMOCRAT votes.

“Let see, the ONLY thing standing between you and your worst nightmares on Immigration is the political spines of 41 GOP Senators, so of course the solution is to spend all our time screaming hate at the GOP?”

The RNC is behind it.

The Senate and House leadership appear to be behind it.

The President is behind it.

It’s backed by prominent Republicans - and it’s pathetic that the prominent ones aren’t guys like Coburn - they are guys like McCain.

” Perhaps all the 100%ers might remember the GOP House Leadership they fired last Nov for not being dogmatically pure enough had this Immigration thing DEAD?”

That’s not quite how it happened. DeLay had to be browbeaten into it by the base. Go look up some of the old threads! I was a lurker back then but I remember the news.

“Perhaps all the screamers MIGHT want to keep in mind that 90% of the votes in Congress for this stupid bill will be DEMOCRAT votes.”

Want to bet on that one? 90%?

The Constitution party that doesn’t really care about the Constitution?

The Losertarians?

Scuse me...yeh, hi...I'm the 'Krag, one of the resident Libertarians here(there are quite a few of us). A little fairness would be nice here - we're a rapidly growing party. Maybe you ought to look into our ideas here before you dismiss us so quickly. I left the Republican party in '03 for the Libertarian party and never have regretted my decision. Even better, why not take The Political Compass (http://www.politicalcompass.org/) for an in-depth look at where on the political spectrum you truly fit. There are 3 right-wing parties in America right now, surely you can feel comfortable with one (although if you choose to stay with the GOP, my prayers to you). In all honesty, though, the GOP and the Dems are losing substantial ground. And to all those who would think that a third party will never win or grow large enough to be a threat, I would say this:

There are many Federalists and Whigs who would agree with you.

Park your Jeep in a liberal Democrat neighborhood, town or city. Some open minded liberal will remove the bumper sticker for you, along with the bumper.

Then contact your insurance company....

I’d wait until after the primaries. Vote there first for your candidate of choice. Make the move out of the party (if you must) before the Genelec.

George Bush is TRYING to destroy the Republican party.

He is TRYING to destroy America.

And he's thrilled about it.

You keep saying this, but never back it up. Do you have any sort of backup for this claim that it was people on the far right who abandoned the party?

The only bumper sticker I’ve seen that I might consider putting on my car is the one that says “Mean People Suck.” LOL!
