Not to change the topic, but as a short side note, I have to say FReerepublic is much more disgusting today than it has been in the past few years. When I started around here I heard and read about earlier dust-ups and how tons of people left because of it.

I didn't know what they meant because there was obviously lots of activity, but I'd hear people like Tony Snow and others refer to the earlier fights and the resulting mass migration out of the site.

Its only been a few years since then and I find myself in the middle of one of those times. I used to spend so much time on here, reading various stories, searching on topics for old stuff, particiapting in the LIVE threads (esp the sunday morning threads) and posting videos.

These days I get attacks and zotted if I dare give the president the respect of calling him by his last name, or not spelling his first with a J. I've been called on to be zotted, and even threatened with banishment because I dare to NOT hate on Rudy on an daily basis and post endless picutres of him in drag.

Its just all really disgusting, and its disgusting form the top (Jim) on down. I only hope after 2008, the site might actually improve for a bit, though if history is any judge I suppose it can only last a year or two before we eat our own again.

I refer to President Bush with respect, I don't misspell his name, I don't waste much time hating on Rudy Giuliani (although I favor others), and I have yet to be threatened with banishment.
