Ugly lines on famed face of beauty (Contest: Count the Leftist talking points)
The Trinidad and Tobago Express ^ | September 5, 2010 | Keith Subero

"America, the beautiful," they all continue to boast, but the lines on her face are now visibly becoming more ugly.

The strains are not only on her visage, but, of course, in her economic base. The Obama economic stimulus packages, observers are now admitting, quite grudgingly, are working on Wall Street, in the car industry and other key sectors.

But there are deep divisions among the thinkers at the US Federal Reserve, the Democratic Party and the White House on the way forward, as unemployment stands at 9.6 per cent on Main Street.

The 9.6 figure, released last week, although slightly better than expected, is still a disastrous sign for Democrats as they face the November election. It showed 67,000 Americans found jobs last month — but the overall picture meant another 54,000 lost their jobs.

Republicans now smell blood. When these figures are placed against a $13.4 trillion national debt, and the aggressive resistance of the American conservatives to anything that even hints of Obama's measures to lift that country out of its morass, Republicans feel assured that they will take both the House and the Senate in November.

Added to this, while I was there last week, along came Glenn Beck, the television presenter we see on Fox News, who is now the poster boy of the new species on the American landscape — the Tea Party movement, revitalised southern Baptist fanatics and other Christian fundamentalists, the Birthers Movement, the National Rifle Association, the anti-rationalists, who leave no room for logic, and all the semi-conscious loonies on the scale.

Beck, a nightmarish figure, who has called Obama "a racist", and compared Obama's America to The Planet of the Apes, staged a "Restoring Honour" rally, summoning thousands of that species to the same site where Martin Luther King gave his "I have a Dream" speech 47 years ago.

Beck shared the stage with Sarah Palin who, in making a circuitous bid to fight Obama for the White House in 2012, has been linked to a new McCarthyism, "a person whose loose language could turn anger to hatred and action to violence".

Palin, a gun-toting, anti-abortion, anti-evolution, fundamentalist, who claimed that she could see Russia from her backyard in Alaska, is everywhere, as the "attack pitbull with lipstick" of this new species.

The Beck-Palin combo now gives a voice to the exclusive "Under God" brand of faith of American fundamentalism. In that brand, there is no room for religious tolerance or science. Surveys show that two-thirds of Americans are unable to identify DNA as the key to heredity. One in five adults, according to the US National Science Foundation, believes that the sun rotates around the earth.

And, of course, 24 per cent of Americans are convinced that Obama is a Muslim, and not born in America.

The Beck-Palin combo appeals to a large body of "less judicious and less contemplative" Americans who are seen not as illiterate, but "a-literate". They are devoutly Christian, anti-intellectual, and without tolerance for other religions, particularly Islam.

So with a supporting cast of Laura Ingraham and Bill O'Reilly from Fox News, bloggers have metastasised bigotry online. Passages of the Qur'an are taken out of context to argue that Islam is an aggressively militant religion, which requires its believers to kill or convert all others.

Hence, the furor over the plan to build a mosque near the site of the World Trade Center. Despite constitutional guarantees of religious freedom, the proposal is now demonised as a provocation, and affront to "good" US citizens. Although construction of mosques increased 1,200 to 1,900 since 2001, proposals to build mosques in other cities are meeting resistance.

The new energy of Christian fundamentalism is becoming ugly. At one meeting, some suggested a burning of the Qur'an. Protesters brought dogs, considered unclean in Islam, to taunt Muslims at a prayer site. One Christian pastor claims that Jesus, had he been around, would have burned the Qur'an, because it is unholy.

What does it mean for us?

Our thinking must now focus on the evolving, new world order, because the marks on America's "beautiful" face are revealing her age. The march of the Christian fundamentalist right is just one of the symptoms of that aging process. The 20th century was deemed America's; it dominated the world like no other empire. Tottering, yet it still is the global leader in innovation, competitiveness and advanced technology.

But, just as Britain's dominance of the 19th century came to an end after World War I, America is now on shaky ground, with China poised to claim the 21st as its own. We must be upfront in the evolution process, as Brazil, Russia, China and India become the new global centre.

Another walking leftist disease contaminating the land and the air we breath with it’s verbal diarrhea.

Why won’t these things just disappear?!

Funny how he mentions Brazil in such glowing terms. It’s mostly illegal to murder infants in that country. Not a great place for leftist vermin to practice their favorite pastime.

If you've even been to Trinidad and Tobago (I should separate them as, though they are "sister" islands, notwirthstanding their geographic proximity, they are truly worlds apart) you know that what they both share is being inhabited by largely uneducated, backward, borderline slovenly cave people.

The folks on Tobago are predominantly sunny, friendly, laid back and honest. Trinidad is a festeringly hostile Muslim enclave of cutthroats and blackhearts.

Anything that represents itself as "Trinidad & Tobago ____ (fill in the blank) is Trinidadian in origin and just marketing itself using Tobago's good trade cachet. Tobagonians would never hyphenate any connection to Trinidad, which it recognizes as its ugly, criminal relation; like the snoring, farting, drunken wife-beating uncle sleeping in your rocker at Thanksgiving dinner.

Long story short, this crap piece is written by a no-count Trinidadian bone-thug whose opinion in the grand scheme of things matters only slightly more than does the opinion of the neighbor's coconut he stole for breakfast.

The Trinidad Tobago Express,eh. Nothing like being a media mover and shaker with a laughable grasp of reality.
America isn’t finished yet, sonny. And we can chew your little world up and spit you out before breakfast, as soon as we get rid of the cockroaches in the White House.

"America, the beautiful," they all continue to boast, but the lines on her face are now visibly becoming more ugly.

Particularly since hussein was elected. He has set back race relations a decade or two. Tanked the economy. Skyrocketed the debt. Killed millions of jobs. Refuses to secure the border. Has emboldened enemies while insulting allies...

The strains are not only on her visage, but, of course, in her economic base. The Obama economic stimulus packages, observers are now admitting, quite grudgingly, are working on Wall Street, in the car industry and other key sectors.

I'm throwing the BS flag on that one. Porkus is absolutely not working, it is an expensive failure. Unemployment is well above what we were promised would be a ceiling, there is no recovery, and now hussein wants to waste even more money, expand government further, infringe more of our liberties... So this is BS.

The 9.6 figure, released last week, although slightly better than expected, is still a disastrous sign for Democrats as they face the November election.

They brought it on themselves. When will they learn - their economic policies DO NOT WORK! How stupid are they, really? Can they be that stupid to keep repeating the same mistakes, or are they intentionally hurting the Country?

...the aggressive resistance of the American conservatives to anything that even hints of Obama's measures to lift that country out of its morass...

And thank {Diety} for that, because hussein's "measures" are not really intended to help America. They are intended to help turn America into something else.

...the Tea Party movement, revitalised southern Baptist fanatics and other Christian fundamentalists, the Birthers Movement, the National Rifle Association, the anti-rationalists, who leave no room for logic, and all the semi-conscious loonies on the scale.

Projecting liberal's own failings onto the TEA Party. Explain to me how expanding government and going socialist is supposed to help anyone but the elitists? {crickets}

Beck, a nightmarish figure, who has called Obama "a racist", and compared Obama's America to The Planet of the Apes, staged a "Restoring Honour" rally, summoning thousands of that species to the same site where Martin Luther King gave his "I have a Dream" speech 47 years ago.

Beck nightmarish? I don't swing that way, but he's not an ugly guy. obama is a racist. Remember the police "acting stupidly" - a snap judgement based on...??? Yeah, just a hint of how obama thinks. I think the site of the rally was appropriate. I have a dream too. A dream of an America where limited government and personal liberty, responsibility, and accountability are paramount. A prosperous America where we all succeed together, not where elitists divide us, play one group off against another, and drag us all down into third world status.

"a person whose loose language could turn anger to hatred and action to violence".

You know there are probably hundreds of leftists in the MSM just hoping and praying that would happen, it's their wet dream. I wouldn't be surprised if even now they are trying to infiltrate people into the TEA Party movement far enough in advance to establish some credibility, then use them to foment a violent incident.

Palin, a gun-toting, anti-abortion, anti-evolution, fundamentalist, who claimed that she could see Russia from her backyard in Alaska, is everywhere, as the "attack pitbull with lipstick" of this new species.

You say that like you intend that as some kind of a slam. I say she sounds like a he** of a lady. (and she is)

In that brand, there is no room for religious tolerance or science.

Throwing the BS flag again. You really ought to research what you write about, you look stupid when you don't.

Surveys show that two-thirds of Americans are unable to identify DNA as the key to heredity. One in five adults, according to the US National Science Foundation, believes that the sun rotates around the earth.

And you're somehow trying to lay the blame for the failed liberal education system on conservatives? Hey, we believe in "some children left behind." You can't make the grade, you get held back until you learn the subject. Liberals want everyone to feel good, to have high self esteem, even when they've done nothing to deserve it. No wonder we're graduating people completely unprepared for life. I think that's part of the plan, makes them easier to manipulate by the left.

And, of course, 24 per cent of Americans are convinced that Obama is a Muslim, and not born in America.

He could easily prove us wrong. Well, unless he really is a Muslim and really wasn't born in America. Odd, he refuses to lay this controversy to rest. Maybe because he can't.

The Beck-Palin combo appeals to a large body of "less judicious and less contemplative"

Could you be any more insulting and condescending? Your self-styled elitist attitude is bleeding through again. I won't even bother to rebut further.

They are devoutly Christian, anti-intellectual, and without tolerance for other religions, particularly Islam.

Throwing the BS flag again. You do realize this is the information age, and people can do research for themselves and quite easily figure out you're lying? I guess lying will soon be trademarked by liberals. obama lies every time he opens his mouth. Literally, every time he gives a statement longer than a couple of sentences there is at least one lie in there. The guy is pathological.

Passages of the Qur'an are taken out of context to argue that Islam is an aggressively militant religion...

No, I think it was taking the bodies out of the rubble of the WTC that did it for me. By your acts you shall be known.

Hence, the furor over the plan to build a mosque near the site of the World Trade Center. Despite constitutional guarantees of religious freedom, the proposal is now demonised as a provocation, and affront to "good" US citizens.

That's because it is you jack***. No-one is saying they don't have the right to build their Mosque there. Many are saying that simply having the right to do something does not make it right. A Mosque at or near ground zero isn't right any more than a Hooters in Mecca would be right. Oh, that's right, Islam wouldn't tolerate it. How's that tolerance thing working?

Although construction of mosques increased 1,200 to 1,900 since 2001, proposals to build mosques in other cities are meeting resistance.

Well freakin' duh! Every time we turn around we find out another Imam was secretly funding or promoting violence and radical Islam out of their Mosque. Who wants the added risk of maybe inviting terrorists (or their supporters) into their community?

The new energy of Christian fundamentalism is becoming ugly. At one meeting, some suggested a burning of the Qur'an. Protesters brought dogs, considered unclean in Islam, to taunt Muslims at a prayer site. One Christian pastor claims that Jesus, had he been around, would have burned the Qur'an, because it is unholy.

Ok, provocative to be sure. But where's that liberal tolerance? Maybe if we had some illegal immigrants burn the Qur'an? Or had a married gay couple that was on welfare do it? Would that make it more acceptable? Where's the much promoted liberal "tolerance" when it comes to conservatives? Watch it, your hypocrisy is showing through again.

Our thinking must now focus on the evolving, new world order...

Hey, your un-American, anti-America socialism is showing through again.
